@@wpbeginner I did everything and could set up the page and everything. But for some reason, my blog content will just not show up on the webpage. It will continue to show the dummy content which is displayed when you add a posts from wp blocks list. Please see if you can help with this. Thanks.

Great info. What I was hoping to learn in this video was how to edit the layout of your Blog Page - not the individual blog posts. I already have a blog but the blog Page is so generic and I want to edit it without losing all my posts if possible. I have WP/Astra/Elementor. No one seems to have a video on this.
This was really great for starting out a blog page on an otherwise static website design. I did still have the question of how to format the blog page so that the content would work with something like IFTTT + Buffer, so that I could make a blog post to social media. Not sure how to convert a static looking designed page into that, but will look to see if you have additional tutorials for something closer to that. Thanks.

@@wpbeginner Thank you a lot. I did this and it worked. But wouldn't that only direct users to the archive of each blog? I would like to set those pages to have a "bloggy layout". Is that possible? I know Divi page builder has this element/addon, but I use WPPB and it doesn't have. Can I produce this layout with Wordpress native tools? (can you notice how beginner I am? hehehe)
this helped a little.but how do you put your post into different categories on the home page? When I click a category on the menu page its just blank with none of my posts although I've categorized my post.

It sounds like your theme may be forcing that value, if you haven't done so already, we would recommend reaching out to your theme's support and they should be able to help.

You would want to ensure all of the posts are published and if they are, you may want to try a different theme to see if the next page link is not available on your current theme.

I have an issue, please help! My homepage theme uses widgets to build it out the way I want it so when I choose static page it messes with everything. Can I create a static page of just blog posts somehow and link to it without having to also set the static homepage to a page? Thanks!

I am having troubles with my blog layout. I have a theme, I created a new page, adjusted settings. However I can't see the setting for show "Summary". On my blog page it is showing the whole blog, and all of them strung together. It's very annoying to read. I hope to just have three or five visible blog summaries, and people click to the next chapter for more blogs.
For very specific layouts, we would recommend using a page builder such as one in our guide below: www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/best-drag-and-drop-page-builders-for-wordpress/ For the summary settings if you can't set that under Settings, Reading, then we would recommend reaching out to the support for your specific theme.

Question - what if you need to create more than one blog page? Say you are a food & lifestyle blog and you want one blog page that houses all of your food content and one blog page for all of your lifestyle blog posts?
@@wpbeginner Thanks! I added the categories to the menu and that worked. But now they show in two places. The posts are still showing on the main blog page too. Is there anyway to make it only show up on the menu pages and not the main blog feed. It really is two completely different topics.
That would be the default behavior for posts, if you create a blog page it will list out your posts and when you click on a link for a post it will show the page for that specific post.
I have a Welcome part on my Home page - so I would like to have a post or two on the home page. I created a blog page - got one post there. Can I use a photo, some text, and a link to the post on the blog page? BUT......I managed to find classic editor in settings - but can't change the color of the text of the title. I've tried everything to get that done. Any suggestions? I'll listen to this tutorial again.....I might find the answer.

I actually deleted the homepage on my blog- It's not really commercial and it's just a hobby thing so I thought it was an unnecessary extra effort (and an acquaintance of mine has a relatively successful blog on WordPress without a homepage). However I have a rather peculiar issue. When going onto the website you immediately enter the Blog page, and you can see my latest posts (in this case just one post- I started the website yesterday).But if you go onto a different page, for example the About page, and return back to the blog page, the post is gone It is still possible to access the post through the recent posts widget but that will definitely be an issue when I start to have more posts

Now, do you know how to assign the categories to a different page on the word press? Let say, there is a post I assigned to fitness, now I want it to be on my fitness page. You would want to add the categories themselves to your menu instead of creating a page and WordPress will automatically list the posts in that category for you the same as they would appear on the blog page.
If we're understanding what you're wanting correctly, you can add a category to your menu and that category will list all posts in that specific category
You should be able to set the page under Settings>Reading and then you would want to clear any caching on your site for the likely solution for what it sounds like is your error.

OK. That is understandable. But, What I am looking to find out is this: What if one day I want to create a post that I want to appear on the blog page. Then the next day I want to create a post that appears on a different page I created. Is there a way to do that without opening up the other page and just editing that page?
You would either want to use a custom post type or use category pages and depending on the category you add the post to would determine which page the post would appear on. I don't know what I did wrong but now when I click on the Blog tab at the top of my Home page, it takes me to an empty page. I can only find my blogs by clicking the Archives month and year. Any ideas?
