Yes you can but remember while writing a cv as part of the documents that the embassy needs you'll have to account for what you've been doing .So if you finished highschool long ago i don't know how you will account for the years after highschool till now but if you finished highschool recently you're good .Also you don't need to have gone to the university or college to be an au pair ,it's open for everyone as long as you have a highschool cert .

@@marthaoiro You don't need an agency to find an au pair family ,you can do it by yourself for the embassy just google the respective embassy of the country you'd like to visit online and it will show you the location in nairobi.

Hello,for ugandans it's possible but you'll use an agency maybe you can try and research on other ugandans who went to the USA as au pairs and inquire more about the requirements.I think the secondary certificate is mandatory cause it's equivalent to an highschool diploma .
