I'm back! Let me know if you want more hack videos like this :) Hope this helps and I hope Adobe makes it easier for motion designers to export with animated previews.
@@antdx316 this is a mogrt hack tip, if you want to learn more about mogrts and how to make them, I have a full free course here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8LRtrEPwzXc.html
Thanks Kelsey, one of the reasons why I stay away from MOGRTS is because my graphics panel is a bit of a mess and it takes so long to find the animation I need.
You hit the nail on the head when you said you hope that Adobe is listening. Although this is a great tutorial going through that process manually for every Mogart on one's system would be way too time consuming. Come on Adobe don't make us waste hundreds of hourrs doing this - come up with a way to automate this for us as otherwise these things are unwieldy and very hard to work with - defeating their whole purpose actually! One creator's opinion. Go get em gal!
Brilliant that you found out how to do this hack. (you are like the Sherlock Holmes of Premiere Pro mysteries!!!!). But like you hint at in your video - and in your call out of creators and ADOBE - that despite how brilliant this method you have uncovered is, it is alas not really practical in reality, as I don't have 10 yrs to spare to do this for the several hundred Mogrts I have. But thanks for sharing - it really is a clever hack. And thanks too for calling out ADOBE to include an automatic version of this, so we can see clearly an animated preview of the 1000s of MOGRTS most of us have now accumulated from suppliers. You ROCK!!
Hey BOX2BOX - I don't have a masterclass from start to finish, but I have an entire playlist dedicated to Ae effects, and I'm sure you'll learn a lot from watching the series, here is the link to the playlist: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TvWI0a0Oqi0.html
Several related tips that might help... Tip1; On a PC you can do all this without actually having to "unpack" the MOGRT file and round-trip through AE v.2022. First, make CERTAIN you have made a back-up copy of the MOGRT files, in case you screw up. Then simply drop the already installed mogurt onto the PP Timeline, and render out the section that you want to use for your preview. (Better scrubbing if you keep it to just the animated section.) Once you have your new "thumb.mp4" you can use the free 7-Zip app to "Open Archive" on your installed MOGRT. Just drag the new "thumb.mp4" file into the 7-Zip window, and close it to save. (Make sure you only have one mp4 if you're revising.) Voila! You're all done. Go back to PP, and it will take a moment for the animation to populate the preview in Essential Graphics panel. (Sorry, I don't know if there's a method like that on a Mac. 🙂) Save the AE render preset, and this process is extremely fast. Tip 2; Size doesn't have to be 700x394, as 640x368 works too. This process doesn't seem to work if your mp4 has an audio track! (That drove me mad...) Tip 3; You may have noticed, the MOGRT file name is not actually related to what PP will call the Mogurt. For me that just sows a lot of confusion, but it can also be fixed without AE. While you are in 7-Zip you can edit the "definition.json" file to alter the name for the MOGRT within the PP Interface. Within that file edit the following variable: capsuleNameLocalized":{"strDB":[{"localeString":"en_US","str":"YOUR ADOBE INTERFACE NAME HERE"}]} That will will actually change the name shown in Essential Graphics, so that it is more meaningful to you. Name the MOGRT with that same name and it's all in harmony, and you can now easily find the source correct file. Handy when there are 3 files, all called "01" in the OS and/or interface. Thumbs up to Premiere Gal for the tips.
Thanks Kelsey,This video has compelled me to share my investment experience for 2021, I believe it will help a lot of people here that are confused on how to start the new year.
From my own point of view, you need to invest smartly, if you need the good things of life. so far i've made over $505k in raw profits from just q4 of the market from my diversified portfolio strategy and i believe anyone can do it you have the right strategy. mutual funds takes long time but investing smartly is the key for short term. Most of us tend to pay more attention to the shiniest position in the market to the cost of proper diversification.
Yeah exactly. My money stays right in my account. It's all programmatic. plus it's relatively much easier to set up and connect my accounts than creating a financial pan and drafting investment strategies myself. my account just mirrors her trades in realtime
i think i might have come across this name on interview where she spoke about how the financial market is being affected by the Covid 19, how can one reach her? i really learnt a lot from her.
Thanks for doing this video. The only downside is I have 100s of MOGRTs and to do this for everyone would take F-O-R-E-V-E-R! I really hope that Adobe does this internally so all of our MOGRTs would have preview files. Now, we have to drag them to the timeline and render them just to see if it is the MOGRT that we want to use and will work with what we are trying to do. Glad to have you back!!!!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I would like to ask some questions: Is is method works in premiere pro 2023? I've tried swapping thumbnails in premiere pro 22.6.4 and it works, but in premiere pro 23.2 it seems not working, all the thumbnail in essential graphics panel keeps blacked, or am i missing some settings in premiere pro 23.2?
May I ask why suddenly I can't preview my mogrt in premiere pro, and also doesn't find it when I use the search box... I tried to delete all of them and use the original, and doesn't fix his problem... I saw more people with this problem and can't find a solution.
IF ADOBE was really good - why do we bother going thru all these hassles of editing the MOG RT files? I AM AT A LOSS for words --- my MOG RT files from ENVATO when I play it on my video its dimensions are not fitting the screen play
Gr8 Vid.....but yeaaaaa Im not gonna do this 1,000 times...... I'll continue top just drop it in the timeline, see what it does and then if i like it keep it in there if not delete......
8 months have passed for this video...is there any update in prem pro so that we can see preview?. I have a good pack of .mogrts but finding right template is really a mess!
I have question, I dont see scene resolution change in essential graphic panel. I need to change all values like text position/scale for those elements and texts. Like your video there is no option to change scene resolution change option. (I use to typography pack)
This is awesome, but i have the same issue with the thumbnail inside the adobe library.... this is not work for the library adode :( do you have an idea ?
This technique is not working for me. Dragging the MOGRT into Premiere Pro gives me a compatibility error (seems to think the MOGRT is from the future…ooooh, the future!!!). Opening it in After Effects, I'm told it has been corrupted (possibly by some kind of temporal paradox created by time travel). Please comment below if you have any idea what trick I missed in applying this technique. Thanks in advance Gal and the Gal Community.
I tried this method with some mogrts I made recently but ran into an issue (after zipping all this together and renaming to .mogrt) that the file is not compatible with this version of premiere pro. I could update, but that's not the point. The base mogrt works fine, but not when zipped with the two thumbs. Anybody else run into this issue?
Okay I've spent way too long on this the past day. So I was having trouble with my mogrts that I was creating in after effects and trying to take into premiere. Unfortunately the solution was that I was being dumb. I was trying to bundle up the exported mogrt from after effects along with the thumbnails but not first unzipping the mogrt. Been wracking my brain on this and of course the answer was very simple.
Super smart and a great tutorial - but I think this is the most insane thing that I've literally ever seen creators like you have to guide people through. There's about 50 steps in this, just to create ONE of my 100+ mogrts. No way to batch process this. "Tedious" is an understatement. Boycott those designers who can't be arsed to create these previews once so their hundreds or thousands of customers don't all have to do this task for them. And agree that Adobe could easily just batch generate the missing ones too. Really frustrating when the paying customer is the after thought.
This tutorial is gold. The most valuable part was editing the mogrts in After Effects. I couldn't figure out how to get them back into an editable state. Thanks for the video!
Hello Kelsey! Can you please make a video on how to make a MORGT Bundle that can show up as an Extension? I bought a bunch of mogrt, and they're all in a folder. If I copy and paste it to the MOGRT folder, it shows up as a mess. I wanted to make it a bundle and use it as an extension with labels. Thanks
Thank you, omg. I use Envato, too, but downloading an asset pack can be next to useless when preview options are not readily available. I definitely do not have time to or interest in doing this to all my files, but it will make me think twice before downloading from the same artist or site in the future.
Hi Kelsey, greetings from the UK. Just superb, as usual. However, I've got a huge, incredibly useful MOGRT pack with over 2,000 elements in it, which works for AE and PR. There are animated previews in AE but just static images in PR. At the moment, it's easier for me to have AE open, find the element I want (by watching its animated preview) then going off to find it in PR. Is there a quicker way to fix this for PR, as there are obviously animated clips already existing for AE? I really don't want to have to go through 2,000 files to sort this out, and it's a great point that you make for the designers and Adobe to consider this for future reference. Could I just drag and drop the animated files from the AE folder onto the Essential Graphics panel? Ha, I do apologise if this sounds like a really childish, simplistic question but, as you know, speed is the essence in motion design. Thanks a lot, Steve.
Thank you for this tutorial. I have searching how to do it and that will great i can find it on your channel. I think I need repeat this to all my mogrts. Thank you.
Do you edit in 1080p or 4k? By default all the mogrts are in 4k. if you edit in 1080p, you can ask motioncan to send you 1080p versions. Also, it depends on your graphics card, mogrts on a lower end machine do perform slow.
Good God, yes! Abode, make this automatic! This is SUCH a pain in the ass to deal with, especially when you have tons of mogrts. It borderline makes them not worth using. In fact there have been several times I've done just that and didn't use them because of the hassle to find the one I'm looking for.
@@PremiereGal Oh and I should have mentioned, thanks for the tip on how to fix it. Tedious or not, it’s a fix for now. My apologies for not doing it in the previous post. :-)
There is a script called Aep to Mogrt which can add previews to new and I also think existing mogrts, but it is paid. I don't have the script but I am tempted to get it, need to do some more research on it. It is weird that Adobe does not have an easier native way to do this, especially when you create your own mogrts.
Thanks, Kelsey, I'm just beginning to understand MGRTS and the Essential Graphics Panel. Thankful that these tutorials are available to help me through the learning curve.
