It should! You may need to use the baseline settings as the position might be off because there isn’t a plane to align to, but I have used it on lofts before. If the text is too big and it starts to deform, it will cause an error.

With this plug in, two parts. What I often do is make the right in two halves so it appears to be two parts, then export as a combined STL to merge together

I'm not sure, but I would think it is dependent based on the shape and your baseline.

To my knowledge, this is a glitch with the plugin. To correct, I often extrude / remove the face to clear the indentation

No, there is only a way to offset vertically with the baseline offset. You could make a sketch with a construction line that is dimensioned exactly where you want the text to start, then manually space and size the text to light up. The plug in works, but its a little limited.

Hello! If I understand correctly, you are trying to place a sketch on a curved face, which you cannot do. But what you can do is use the "wrap" feature in combination with a sketch on an offset surface instead

Not natively, there may be an extension to do this but Onshape really only works well with imported dxf files

I am not sure what might cause this, did you work it out? This video is older, but I just tested it and it’s still working for me

1- unfortunately no, its an error with the tool. But you can use the "thicken" tool after the surface text tool to even out the shape and correct the error. 2- alignment control is limited, as you pointed out. I use spaces to offset the position of the text for better alignment, or design in two parts. So if I was making a mug for example, I would make the cylinder with the text, then add the handle as a separate part so I could position it where it needed to be based on the location of the text. I hope this helps!

I just checked, and I could still search for the surface text tool and utilize it as shown in this video. Make sure you search for pp-surfacetext-beta and found version 2.1.7. Before you search, also make sure you are in "other documents" rather than "current documents", and you can select "community spotlight" and search within the spotlight to filter out duplicate tools for the original.

Try adjusting the baseline, and ensure that your plane is oriented correctly in relation to your geometry.
