thank you Veronica. I loved the way that you put the repeating patterns in the background and have experimented with this idea by putting a very light stencil repeated for my background. It worked well and made the drawing look a bit like a map.
I use fabriano artistico extra white hot press 300 GSM watercolor paper because I draw very fine detailed animals and the smooth surface allows me to get very fine detail in the fur. This paper takes many layers without any problems for me.
