Today I revisit an old topic, scrolling credits. With the new addition, (Or rather the old addition) of the roll button, scrolling credits just got a whole lot easier. Now you can use the text tool to get the old roll and crawl that used to be with the old Title Creator.

lovely! start making rolling credits between 0:40 or 1:00 if you need to find the right tool fast ;)

I just use keyframes on position so the text is under the screen at the start and ends above the screen by the end. It just needs 2 keyframes (beginning and end) and you just extend the clip if it scrolls too fast.

Thanks for this clear and easy explanation! Just did the scrolling credits for my 1hr 50min kids drama production at our church. Ran a slideshow and music under the scrolling credits. Was simple to do but looks great! This was my longest 2-camera 4K project yet. Nice to end it with the scrolling credits :)

Thanks! I subscribed to your channel. Do you happen to have one on applying EQ and/or improving sound? I'm interested especially in live speaking and musical performance recorded off a sound board and synced with on-camera sound to make it sound fuller and less sterile.

Thanks for the video! ---> How can you add a rolling effect on pictures? Like a jpg or something. I have scrolling edits with a picture at the beginning and at the end.

I couldn't find a way to do this so i split the sequence and added a picture in which i then changed the start and end position (using the effects control pane) so it scrolled up. It was a bit tricky to match the speed but I got there in the end. There might be an easier way to do it but i haven't found it yet. Hope that helps.

When I exported my file as usual, my rolling credit wasn’t rendered out to my exported file. It just leaves a blank black space in my video. Could you help me fix this problem?

This is the only video I have been able to find that uses a text file similar to mine. Long list of names simply scrolling down to up. But it is insanely buggy for me and the dynamic text box for me isn't organized (just surrounding the words perfectly. It also is not letting me move it effectively. The main issue is I do not get a smooth scroll wheel on the side when I click "roll". I can only click in to edit the final parts of the text roll and nothing in the middle or beginning. When I try using the older legacy title feature I do not get a scroll wheel tab at all. It's so frustrating working with long text on this.

Hey there, so this lag might be from the playback itself, and not what the final version would look like. I would try rendering it out to see what is happening. It could be the footage is already really smooth while scrolling.

@@AdobeMastersOfficial Yes the exports are good a smooth 😊 It's just annoying because working anywhere else on the timeline or trying to edit the text itself is difficult due to lag, freezing, and crashing. I monitor the pc and it's not even a lack of hardware power. Of all things, I never would've thought it'd be just text that causes Premier Pro to struggle hard. 😖

you can change position? from center to leftside and put a video in right side when credits roll? like a movie.

You could do this, you would need to probably create two seperate scrollings lists. When the middle one needs to move, you would have the left one scroll up beneath it. You could then use the Picture In Picture technique, and have a video appear on the right side!

I did this with a 2 page word document of names and it condensed it to all to 2 lines going all the way off screen doing exactly the same thing you said and it also removed all the source formatting...

I have a glitch with scrolling credits where if I have long pages of names and try and edit them the cursor drops to the bottom and I can’t edit text. Does anyone have any clues to resolve that one? Using latest Mac os and PP

thanks! But, I can't select the text and quickly scroll through different fonts, seeing it change in real time on my Mac. It only lets me click and then the font dropdown appears and I have to pick one. That is not workable! What am I doing wrong?

Hi - I'm wondering if it's possible to add columns to a dynamic text box. For example, "Grips" on the left side of the screen, and then have five names on the right. Thank you for the video!

At this time, I don't believe that is an option. However, when we turn the roll on, it is rolling the entire graphics layer. So you could create two separate text boxes that are lined up next to one another. Then when you roll, they should all move at the same time!
