Tips on creating rolling credits in Adobe Premiere Pro 

OK, so I've seen a lot of tutorials on You tube but trust me, yours is easy and amazing. I like the way you zoom in and out to show the exact icons you click to give specific effects; makes is quite easy. Keep it up Sire. Superb tutorial. I gotta say, this is an area where Adobe really needs to make things easier. The Boris text tool is much easier to use in Final Cut Pro 7, but also has its certain limits. But much easier to start with at least.

I love your tutorials. That said, I see from the comments below, that I am not along in the confusion with the tabs. The problem is a basic understanding of how you set, initially, the right justified text at the beginning of the line, followed by left justified text. Seems simple enough, but I (along with others, apparently, can't figure it out). I was able to set two different left justified lines, but when I set the right justify tab stop, the 2nd row is moving to that line, rather than the first row. If you could record a brief video on the basics of setting up your tab in the word processor, that would be fantastic, and with an annotation link to that video from this one, I'm sure you'll have plenty of traffic and less upset dodo's like me who see this vide and can't get it to work. Cheers!

How do you get this technique to work in the newer versions of PP that don't use the legacy titler? I'm on 24.2 and can't figure out how to do this.

Good video with valuable tips. Now, I would like a better explanation of all the choices in the rolling sequence title window. pre-roll, end roll, ease in , ease out. And how to control precisely when the roll begins at the bottom of the screen. Like PS, there ought to be templates or plugins that can automate all of this.

Ive tried this twice and it didnt do anything initially like the video depicts, so I figured out that if your text doesn't move over, then you have to tab it over using the tab key on the keyboard. Manual labor, am I right?! :D

I have a glitch using CS6 doing a rolling credit with piles of names. If I try and cut and paste to change order mid level or towards the end it pastes fragmented text from another area I did not select??? If I cut and past section from the very top it will work. Do you have any idea how to resolve that one?

i put a rectangle and put it in the corner and changed the height but still there are no scroll showing. please help.

Hi Colin. Just wondering if you have a newer tutorial on rolling credits. My problem is I want the to start off screen but end on screen. Things have changed a bit since 2015. Thanks.

I have to add logo's to my credit role and I use insert graphic and that works fine but when it come time to export I gets stuck at my credits. I've used tiff, jpeg, png etc none of these seem to work. WTF HELP PLEASE!!!!

What if you just have a small amount of credits? Should it be necessary to set it at 20000? I am having problems when I finish. When I drag the clip out longer, there is too much blank space after the credits, and when I try and trim it, the credits fly by way too fast to read.

Hey, great video, it really helped a lot! I do have one question though: I know how to work with tab stops if its one line on the left and one line on the right (e.g. Role - Actor Name). However, I can't figure out how to do it with one line on the left and multiple lines on the right. At 6:39 you're scrolling through the credits and there's one section where you managed to do what I'm struggling with: It shows "U.S.S. Enterprise Bridge Crew" on the left and then multiple names on the right. How did you do that? I've been trying to do that for ages but I haven't figured out how, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

I always find difficulties when using multiple successive bezier keyframes for position and scale. The video frame shifts outside screen even though my keyframes are correct and inside the screen. Is there a difference between temporal and spatial interpolation in the keyframes property? Would you please address these issues in a new video, if your time allows, l’d be grateful. ❤️

Hi Colin, thanks for the quality of your tutorial! I'm trying to create a rolling title which appears within a window which isn't the full height of the screen. How do I make text scroll into view, say, 200 pixels above the bottom of the screen, then scroll up and disappear about 200 pixels below the top of the screen?

My new mac does not have Microsoft Word on it. Is there anyway to do scrolling credits by typing directly into premiere?

How can I make the title stop mid-screen? For example I have a logo at the very end of my credits and I want it to stop with the logo centred and then have it fade out. Do I have to do this with animation outside the title-tool or is there an option somewhere buried within?

Styles is a nice feature but kind of crappy if we cant edit them, why that adobe? Why doesnt center tab lining work properly? A magnetic tab stop panel like other adobe panels is much more usefull. Also having a grid to line text frames to would be nice feature

my scrollwheel won't show up pls help me out

i put a roll on but it rolls so slowly! Even when it's super tiny, like one minute long, it rolls the same speed as if it's 45 minutes long, which is so slow you can barely see it move. It scrolled 1/8th of a screen in 45 minutes. that's how slow it goes. i cant get it to speed up no matter how long or short i make it! omg i want to destroy this damn computer!

Why does Adobe make simple things so extremely complicated?
