My wife said it is the scuff resistant line of paint by Behr paint. The color is Limousine Leather in Eggshell. Hopefully that helps!

Are the MDF boards nailed right into the drywall or did you have to find the studs? If it is straight into the drywall, how is it holding up without glue? Thinking about doing this soon... thanks in advance!!

Hey there. So, I was not aiming for studs, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I got it a couple of times. It has held up no problem at all! We were purposefully not nailing into stud just incase we remove it down the road. If you think the wall will be permanent, then definitely shoot your brad nails into studs, and if you want to be a little extra, use liquid nails for extra hold.

Lots of apps on phone to help you with those fractions. I hate them. I use the apps on fone to calculate all that. Hate math!!

Hi Jay, my wall does not have any texture. I am honestly not sure but looking online at that texture, you may have to sand down the areas you would put your trim on the wall. Or if you just put it on top of it, I would suggest a healthy amount of caulk to hide the seams between the boards and the wall.

How did you calculate the length of the diagonal pieces?

Hey curlysouthpaw - very non-scientifically! LOL. My wife just decided on an angle. Then I took a piece that was long and marked the top and bottom, where it met the vertical pieces. Once I had the piece cut and fitted, she approved it. Also, once you have that first piece perfectly cut, you could use it to mark the other pieces for that portion of the wall. Don't forget that the boards going in the opposite direction are flipped.

Thank you, I appreciate that! We ordered 1x2 primed MDF boards from Lowe’s actually. I think they were only about $3-4 and they came in 12’ length. I think 1”x3” boards a little more common, but we are happy with the results!

Yeah I am pretty sure you won’t run into those issues with MDF, but I just got some wood from Home Depot the other night and one of the 2x4s was literally twisting?! 🤔

use metric, it's base 10 instead of base 16. Simpler

I appreciate the comment and have to disagree. You can see plenty of depth looking from all angles, including straight on. I would say it looks slightly different in person, in a good day. It’s also a nice contrast for our space since it’s mainly white and grey.

@@briemills9209 yeah. I do try to get an accurate representing with everything I do, but everyone that see it loves it. Even had someone yesterday over facetime give it a lot of praise.
