Want to create your own line of cleaning products? Angela Brown says it's not as easy as it sounds. If you want to create your own line of cleaning products, you'll need to figure out the "why" and the "how to."
You'll need chemical manufacturers with a specialty in cleaning supplies. That will involve consultants, training, chemists, and SDS (Safety Data Sheets.)
How to create your own line of cleaning products is different from how to pitch your product to distributors. You'll need to know sales, marketing, and inventory management. You'll have warehousing and shipping, and handling. And you'll need a fulfillment staff and an accounting dept. You'll have to price your #cleaning products for #profit. But keep prices low enough that consumers will buy with the steep competition.

Angela, the scope of your answer is right on. As someone with a background in advertising & marketing, I would suggest to anyone considering producing a consumer product to start with just one item. But it has to be the best and/or extremely unique. Examples: Estee Lauder started her company with Youth Dew, a fragrance she concocted at her kitchen table. She sold it to independent boutiques for years before creating a lipstick. White Castle was built on its one-and-only type of hamburger. Bartender's Friend is a stand alone product. Just one great product can lay the foundation for an empire.

Really appreciate the real conversation. I tend to think of the big picture. All these details made me realize that I'm not as passionate about this idea as I thought. Especially when it comes down to the profit margin. Cleaning has spoiled me. It's such a low cost start up and maintenance business

+Love Life owning a product line is a huge commitment. It means you have to consider your competition, and the sales outlet where you will be selling your products. You have to plan warehousing and inventory and shipping as well as manufacturing, there’s just so much to consider to be 100% sure you want to do it before you move forward. There’s no harm though, in walking through the details in your head before you make a commitment. 👍👍👍

That sounds like a hard market to get into being so many households use a particular brand of supplies. I would just market my clients with my products. 😊

You have no idea how much money you need to invest to just sell things to a small group of people. Just to give you an idea if market to 1000 clients, a 32oz bottle of any given product would need to sell for around $500 to break even and then you will need to comply with MOQ's from those monsters Angela mentioned. There are companies out there that would make you say 50 bottles at a reduced price in compare to the retail store and charge you for your label. Maybe one of those companies you don't earn money at all but you keep your clients loyal. Now if you go with the big guys you have to go really bog and plan on selling millions of bottles nationwide. it can be done but.... You need to invest

What cleaners do you use to clean your cleans that DON’T leave a stick or filmy residue? My friend and I have a cleaning business that’s very successful but we’re having major troubles with finding a cleaner that is quality. We thought we found some but then they changed the formula and now we’re back to square one!

Just called Midlab labeling they get like six phone calls a week from this video and they were noticeably unhappy about it LOL so many people calling them thinking that the average person can go to them but they have a 20000 piece minimum, lol

The most usual type of floor cleaner people buy is LYZOL lime fragrance floor cleaner from reckets (the company that manufactures HARPIC also.) I understood your points and I will act accordingly. Now my vision has become much clearer on what necessary steps I must take to establish my brand value of my product's in the market.

Check with your local jurisdiction to find out what the regulations are for mixing and selling chemicals. I don't want to say it's okay because I don't know what if any fines are associated with what you want to do. I do know they will probably require a Safety Data Sheet - and so may your customers.

I guess I don't understand the question. If you create your own product line - it would be your job to get it to market. You can do it yourself, but ultimately you would have a team of people who market it for you. And you would run ads and hire influencers etc.

Question. Can you not create your own? You have to have someone else create a product? Because that’s how most of these chemicals never work and are watered down. I come from a Russian community, and every chemical out there is complete garbage. And everyone asks here for something very strong. As far as the rest, I don’t need marketing, nor labeling etc, bc I got that myself already. I already have a customer base even though I don’t have a product yet. Makes no sense but I’m not worried about that.

You can create your own product lines, but there are certain rules and regulations and legalities that come with it. If you are not a chemist - you walk a very fine line with legalities of promises, and product representation - and you are liable for the health hazards that come with the product (if any), filing Safety Data Sheets with GHS, and for having a 24/7 service line that can answer chemical related questions from any customer that calls.

what customers want and need is one bottle that is "munity cleaner" that way you do not have bottles of cleaning products all over the home. They need to be pet and child safe and easy to open and use. Plus now people are wanting to reduce waste and micro plastics
