I have to say, I have never thought of using a glue gun for assembly, but that is going to make the job so much easier for this little guy!! I was sorta dreading sewing things on, but now I can finish this in no time.

I use all my gnome for decorations so it is not necessary to sew them together. I make so many that it is just easier and faster to glue them. That said I do not let kids play with them as they would be able to tear them apart.

I have been making so many gnomes, if I had to sew them all we would have a lot less of them. As log as they are just decorations then glue works great.

Made the Santa Gnome and my daughter and daughter-in-law saw him. They loved him! So, I made them each one for their homes. I will be making more of your other gnomes also. Thank you 💜🧶

Thank you so much for making this pattern! It's such a fun, easy gnome to make that I've already made 1 and am working on another. That being said, 1 small tweak that I feel makes life easier for people sewing is to add a small brim to the hat. I did it by sc in 16 stitches and 3 sc in one stitch, 3 times in the front loops only, after the last hat round. Just adds a nice brim and perfectly hides the hat/body seam.

That works. You can do that or work the last row in the back loops only to help with sewing! That is great advice.

RU-vid has a lot of videos on how to sew amigurumi pieces together. This gnome is a little easier because you can attach the pieces before stuffing the gnome. I have sewn one gnome together and I know it is possible, but since I design new gnomes so often, I save a lot of time by gluing them together.

I was stuck and made a lot of bodies ? Trying to figure it out Welll I watched the videos and now I have a bunch of bodies! I didn’t make a gnome before sooo I kept making them thinking that it wasn’t big enough? Lol gnome madness! Glueing now 🎉

There is not. You attach them right at the top of the body. Attach them right next to each other then sew or glue the nose on top of them and in between the braids.

Since the fox gnome construction is different than this gnome, the ears and hat in particular, it would have been nice if this video addressed these things.

It would but I have about 50+ gnome patterns and they all have unique features that are not included in the basic gnome tutorial. I am afraid that I do not have the time to make a video tutorial for all the extra elements. Maybe one day.

Thank you for trusting us to know how to follow directions and not make us follow you for each stitch. I'd have gotten impatient if I had to follow you, especially thru the hat. 15 single crochet and then increase. Thanks again. I'm going to start it today.

The braids are assembled almost like the beard. I just glue both braids in place right in the center-top of the body, then I glue the nose in between the two braids.

I do not. But if you look through my gnome patterns in my website you might find a hat that you can modify. The hard hat and baseball cap (without the brim) could look like a helmet. I also think the construction gnome has a safety vest that could be made to look like a motor cycle vest.
