I am obsessed with stars so when I saw this video I had to make it!! But I was so surprised that this was incredibly easy to understand and its so simple to make!! Thank you so much for this video 💗 I’m making my granny squares from red and black and I’m going to turn them into a tote bag!!
I'm making my daughter a second crochet blanet, but the first one for her made of granny squares. I sent her pictures of at least 30 granny squares, and out of all of them she thought yours was the prettiest. Can't thank you enough for teaching me to make something my teenage daughter actually wants! You did a great job at teaching the steps, filming it so we could see it all, and putting it all together to post. Filming this can't be easy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! May your new year be filled with joy and abundance!🥰🖤🙏
@@mariasyarnI bought 2 one pound skeins for the star color, 3 one pound skeins for the main color, then 3 regular 7 ounze skeins for the border color. I used worsted weight yarn and made a Queen size blanket with 20×20 granny squares. Hope that helps!
For people that keep making pentagons, make sure you do the 3 single crochets on the first round of the border, otherwise you just continue to follow the shape of the star rather than the square shape we want
I bought 4 yarns 3 years ago and give up after a week. 3 days ago, I found it again under my bed and decided to give it a try. I failed miserably because I watched other people tutorial and I don't understand a single thing. And I still try because I want to give it to my boyfriend. And I nailed it! Thank you so much for being a good teacher! Keep going!!
I was watching random RU-vid videos while I was crocheting another project and when this video popped up I ended up putting it down so I could try out making a star. This whole pattern is so clever, very excited to put this to use in the near future.
its normal when ur still in the first part of the square, hers was like this too, also mine was like that and i freaked out but when u finish the pattern iot turns into a square, dw
I am writing this to have a quick overview of the instructions, hope this helps :) Step 1: •Magic ring •Chain 3 •14 double crochets INTO the circle •Slip stich into the 3rd chain Step 2 (points of the star) •Chain 5 •Single crochet into the 2nd chain from the hook •Half double crochet into the 3rd •Double crochet into the 4th •Treble crochet into the 5th •Slip stitch into the 3 stitch ( Repeat for the other points of the star)
i’ve seen so many tutorials for beginners but yours so far have been the most helpful and so well explained. i’m a beginner and this is extremely helpful! i can’t wait for more 🤎
for my own personal use: magic ring, ch 1 ch 2. 14 DC. SLIP-STITCH into top ch 3. ch 5. insert into 2nd chain from hook, SC. next, a HDC. next, a DC. then TRIPLE. join SS into third stitch from hook. ^do that again 4 more times pull close magic ring switch color by insert into work (like top of first star peak point), yo w new color, pull thru, ch 1. HDC. DC. TR. TR Two together ((yo 2x, insert, yo, pull thru 2, yo 2x again, into next stitch, pull up loop, yo pt 2, yo pt 2, yo pt 3))? next, TR. DB. HDC, SC. ^ repeat until it’s square thing HDC, DC, TR. CORNER: 1 TR, ch 2, 1 TR (all same st) TR. DC. HDC. 3 SC. ^ repeat until square (slip to finish) (ch1) into ch 2 corner space, yo new yarn color, tie knot thing idrk, ch 3, HDC into same ch 2 space. 1 SC into every stitch , until next ch 2 space. next ch2: 3 HDC. then 1 SC into every until ch 2.
Here’s the instructions (i wrote it slightly different for better understanding): Star:- ~Start with magic ring then chain 2 ~make 14 double crochet in MR (Slip stitch at the end of the row to start with the points) ~chain 5 ~Single crochet into 2nd chain from hook ~half double crochet into 3rd ~ double crochet into 4th ~triple crochet into 5th *count 3 stitches and slip stitch into the third chain you counted* Border:- *chain one into the point of the star* ~half double crochet ~double crochet ~triple crochet ~triple crochet 2 together (by leaving two loops at triple number 1 and starting with triple number 2) ~triple crochet ~double crochet ~half double crochet ~single crochet -at the last corner, slip stitch instead of a single crochet. Then chain one Second half of border:- ~half double crochet ~double crochet ~triple crochet --------- [the corner part is made all in the same stitch]: ~triple crochet ~chain 2 ~triple crochet ------------ ~triple crochet ~double crochet ~half double crochet ~single crochet in next 3 stitches -slip stitch into the chain we did at the beginning *chain one and cut off end* Thin border:- *attach (your yarn color) into one of the big spaces with a normal knot ~chain 3 ~make a half double crochet into that empty space ~make a single crochet across until the end of the row and you’ve reached the second empty space~ ~make (3) half double crochet into the second empty space *repeat process until you reach the start of your thin border* ~make a half double crochet then slip stitch at the top of the “chain 3” that we did at the start *chain 1 and cut off end* I hope that helps :3
@@sukrititiwari8438 if you mean the star itself is a little off then yeah i’ve been having the same problem i don’t know why.. but if you mean the star is close to the border, then try to loosen your stitches while crocheting the border!
thank you for the tutorial!! it’s very easy to follow and i’m successfully made a granny square star for the first time!! i would like to see more crochet tutorial ❤❤❤

So cute! I made mine star-> pentagon -> circle, cuz of the project I was doing but I love how you wrote the steps on the screen as your doing them! (Bonus points for being Taylor swift inspired)
Thanks, this was fun and easy to follow! I used weight 4 yarn (Big Twist Value) with a 4.5mm, if you use her border directions it turns out to be 5 in. (W/o last round) I needed to make it 4 in. so I did 2 dc + 1 ch + 2dc for corners, then dc, hdc, sc in next 5 stitches, hdc, dc, corner again. (W/o last round)
