@@carolschmidt4949the main point of granny squares for beginners is for them to explore different stitches (mahum’s star granny squares would work better) but this tutorial mostly focuses on one stitch

Solid granny square: round 1: mr chain 5 3 dc + chain 2 3 dc + chain 2 3 dc + chain 2 2 dc ss to 3rd chain close mr round 2: chain 3 2dc, chain 2, 2dc (corner) dc in every st till next corner once you reach the end, ss to the 3rd chain. keep repeating till you have as many rounds as you want. to finish: ss to 3rd chain, chain 1 and fasten off

Im basically from paksitam, but struggled a lot finding good and cheap yarn there, but if you have any second hand markets or sunday markets, where they sell second hand clothes and other stuff in bulk, you could visit there and ask the sellers about knitting yarn in your language and other handcrafts supplies. You might not find needles of all sizes, but whatever you found you can utilize them in related projects, you also might not find similar color yarn, but you could make some different colour combinations for projects like blankets or cardigans etc. Give it a try, whatever you find get it, start creating with it, start posting on your socials, you might even find a good community around you who could help you find nice supplies😊 Best of luck crocheting!

Making squares is a bit intermediate, if you make a few basic crochet projects like a beanie, or purse than you can move to making a basic headband and flower, so that you get little bit idea about crochet basics.😊

Why is there a space when I finish round three and four between the three chain and the double crochets of the left? It’s almost as if I should’ve put a double crochet in the same stitch as the three chain, but I started my first ab crochet after the three chain into the next stitch.is there a way to prevent the gap between the chain and the first double crochet?

ur stitches might be too tight!! mine curls up a little around the edges but looks fine when i just pull on it a bit when im finished. if that doesnt help it could definitely be ur stitches being too tight

Any appropriately sized amigurumi would work fine. But instead of stuffing it with polyester fluff, crumple up pieces cut from a potato chip bag and stuff it in there. That way, when your cat plays with it, it will make a crinkling sound, which cats love. Also don't forget to scent it with catnip spray.
