How to crochet a lace animal / doll dress - Wooly Wonders Crochet Animals

This tutorial will show you how to crochet a little lace dress to fit any Wooly Wonders Crochet Animal. All outfits are interchangeable.
For this dress you will need a 3.5mm crochet hook and fine yarn. I used Drops Baby Merino yarn.

I made this using #4 worsted yarn and a 4.25mm hook and it came out perfect size for an American girl doll dress. The only change I made was the first row/round after creating the arm holes I did a 5 double crochet to 1 pattern. And repeated that 5 times total to make the torso longer to fit an American girl doll then continued on with the pattern as shown. And at the end you can add extra rows of 9 to 1 pattern to make the dress as long as you want. Mine was just above the knee length. Came out beautiful and perfect fit.

Such a lovely dress. I’ve already made two of those and now am making the third one, using a silk fine thread, the colour of light blue. It is very slippery, hard to handle but with practice and determination maintainable. And so far looking shiny and pretty. Doing it for my granddaughter’s new Kewpie doll. Finished the dress. It took a lot more yarn than I expected. I thought I could use a scrap ball but ran out. Luckily I had a new skein in my stash, so it ended well. Looking forward to more outfits.

I love this dress but need it a bit bigger. You give the amount of 33 chains, could you add whether it is for example a 2 plus 1, 3 plus 2 or ?. So that I can accurately figure the starting chain for a larger size? I absolutely love your accent and the way you teach! Very soothing to listen to and easy to follow! 😊
