I am a beginner - always wanted to learn crochet but I am left-handed and my mum is right-handed so when I was a kid she just did not have the patience or skills to teach me. Then adulthood got me so busy that I never had time for hobbies.... just work, studies and chores and hustle. This year I turned 40 years old and I decided that I give myself the gift of not using my left-handedness as an excuse and I make time. We can always make time if we really want to.... a lot of the tutorials were right handed but I found a chrome plugin and it mirrors the videos!!!!! so I can watch yotube videos flipped! Technology! Magic! and although I never could properly crochet and always gave up all projects I started at the beginning: with your amazing guidance, the chrome video mirroring plugin and my 40-year-old decision made it all possible to do this! I am so excited, thank you!!!! Made my first party hat! Happy dance and all! 🎉 🏆 this video is so helpful and perfect!!!!! You have an amazing skill at teaching and passing on this skill! I do try right-handed to help when she needs me but using my right does not look pretty... so moslty I am just next to her assisting every now & then while I do my own left-handed crochet. My cat is turning 2 this week, and I started crocheting just to make him a cute birthday hat! And I was able to make this hat on the first day of crocheting thanks to your clear explanations! I spent an hour practicing making chains, single, half double, double, triple crochets before jumping to this tutorial, and that definitely helped me a lot in understanding an actual pattern like this. I used a multi colored yarn (I didn't know you were supposed to pick a light colored yarn when I was at the store lol I just had to make it work somehow), and I made the big pompom with my hands, without any tools. I did spend a lot of time trimming it though😅 I skipped on the bobbles, as my yarn was already colorful enough, and I made the ties by making chains and slip stitching the chains up. I'm really proud that I was able to make this just in my first day, I'm so motivated! And it's all thanks to you!❤🎉
I made this hat along with an amigurumi unicorn for my granddaughter’s 2nd birthday- and put curlyques on top instead of a pom (to match the unicorn). Thanks for the pattern!!

One of the things I’ve learned over the years is to make a knot that doesn’t slip. Just wrap the yarn or ribbon twice before adding the next knot loop to close. Go around the anchor yarn twice then the second loop.
8:55 Hello! Thank you for this adorable pattern! My great nieces 2nd birthday is coming up next month! I am on round 7 and I am not sure out how you arrived at 20 stitches at the end of round 7? If I 3sc increase in the 4th or 5th stitch, I end up With more than 20 stitches -help!
For around 6 you should have 16 sts. Then for Round 7 you should make 3 sc then increase. You make a total of 4 increases in that round so 16+4=20. I hope that makes sense!! 🧶🧶🧶
