Two years later and I have a ton of amigurumi that I've made and all thanks to this tutorial. I know you probably aren't going to see this, but your tutorial let me have this hobby that calms me down and I can be creative this way! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heary

Quarantine life: After years of failing to figure out crocheting, I just finished my first flower!!! Omg thank you! This is a perfect video for beginners. Slow and helpful!!! Thank you. I would love to make a blanket. Update Jan 2021... I have made a blanket and scarfs and I’m working on a sweater July 2021: can make shirts and cardigans and have become obsessed with buying yarn 🤣 December 2021: addicted to crocheting hats! March 2022: I’ve accumulated so much yarn! I have myself a yarn buying ban. It literally took over my craft room. Feb 2023: crochets so many sweaters I literally have no room to put them. Falls in love with chunky yarn. Is now a pattern tester! 🎉

EDIT: Okay I'm back and I realized one tip for beginners struggling with their project becoming a "ball" is that you need to move the center looped stitches over so there are no gaps to form the petals. It worked! You do mention it at the end of the video to do this at 18min, but this was why my flower wasn't taking proper shape :). Thank you for your wonderful video! My first time and it became kind of like a ball. I think I didn't use the proper tension so the different sized stiches lost the petal's shape. But your tutorial is very clear and helpful. I'm going to keep practicing and watching your videos until I get the proper feel for it because I feel like it will click after several tries. Definitely the most helpful video I have come across.

@paige4201
@paige4201 4 года назад
@@fortunatelyno yeah! if you put the stitch marker through two of the starting chains (right across from each other), that would definitely work! just make sure you don't put it the entire chain, just through one part of the v (if that makes sense). if the chain marker is too short (as in it warps the circle), then a different colored piece of yarn would work just as well!

Thank you do much for this! As a beginning crocheter this was much more helpful than other videos and instructions I have seen. I love the way you actually crochet every single stitch in real time with us, unlike other videos who crochet one then fast forward, leaving me lost and frustrated. You are a very good teacher and I will search for you first when looking up new projects! :)

I'm absolute beginner, started last week. I went through so many videos for beginners. They're great but only your video is actually slow and perfectly explained. I finally got it. Thank you soo, so much! Edit: also huge thank you for using thinner yarn. On many videos for beginners thicker one is being used and that's a way different story in beginner's eyes ;)

I love how you slow down when you are teaching. i've seen other videos that start slow then speed up. my flower didn't turn out like yours, it became a very hot mess lol. i won't give up. thank you for your patients in doing this video, greatly appreciate it.

Wow this really is for 'absolute' beginners! I'm a slow learner & have just BARELY learned to basic crochet. I want to knit a baby headband but add a crocheted headband. I really believe I've hit the jackpot in finding you...you are slow & I can see everything well. Thank you thank you for sharing your time & skills! :D

I tried so many flower tutorials and I could not make any of them, but I found yours and after two tries I was able to make something that looks like a flower! One of the petals is a bit small, I think I pulled a little too much... 😂 but I feel so accomplished! I have never crocheted before and I was able to make it! Thank you so much for this awesome and beginner friendly tutorial! 💛 Well... off to make some more. I bet they'll look better each time I make another!

At my third attempt, I finally made a flower! I'm so proud. It's a bit misshapen, but, at last, came out recognisable. All previous tries resulted in a pile of knots. It's worth the effort though! I learnt something new! Yay!

***** Thank you! And yes, you're absolutely right about the character of handmade things. :-) Maybe you will like to hear that I, in fact, kept going! I even moved on to three-dimensional freeform crochet. It's amazing that actually all the stitches you ever need are here in this tutorial. All the other ones are basically extensions of those. In the beginning, it looked impossible, but it's actually relaxing, as well as quite addictive! Thank you ***** for teaching me crochet! You will forever be my crochet matron, haha!
