- A pair of scissors
- A yarn needle (optional)
- A stitch marker (or bobby pin, piece of scrap yarn, paper clip...)

HI. I'm 11 years old.I followed this tutorial and made an octopus for my little brother within 2 hours. I think this project is really cute and it is absolutely beginner friendly. This was my third-ever crochet project and I succeeded from the first try. All you need to know so that you can make on of these octopuses is this: single crochet, slip-knot, slip-stitch, and the chain (in US terms)

Took me 20minutes and it was my first ever stuffed animal! I've been making blankets since I was a kid and just started teaching my kids/neices basic stitches(like just started the other day) and they wanted to do stuffed animals lol I told them they have to learn to just do a chain and single stitch first. But thought I'd check out something simple since I only ever do blanket patterns. This was so quick and fun I can't wait to show the kids!

Thank you so much for making such a great tutorial, my son and I started making these cute guys thanks to you. Your instructions are so easy to follow the only thing we have struggled with is the actual yarn, the one we have is difficult to work with, we can't see the stitches so well. Oh I loved this so much not only did I get a cute octo pal out of it but this honestly helped me better learn some of the stitches then other tutorials - All I have right now is like smaller wooly yarn def want try this out with a different yarn next time (I'm left handed but still found it very helpful and easy to follow)
