Cropped, lightweight and with a retro feel the Riviera Tee is a great crochet top! The wide, chunky stripes and the short-ribbed sleeves create a fun crochet tee as you can vary up the stripes or pick a solid colour for a clean, no-frills look! This crochet top has a cropped length but you can easily alter it to make it longer or shorter. This design is created by seaming together a front, back and 2 short sleeves together.

They are quite lovely and would make an excellent book. I have looked at beginner crochet books and think that you would make an excellent addition to a market that is sadly lacking in beginner crochet tops!

How to avoid increase in measurement? I counted the stitches, they are the same in all rows. Took note of my tension and still measurement increases.

You did great, I've noticed you used different methods of sewing? Why? Different part need different way or what?

I used different methods so I could hide the yarn that I carried up the sides of the top :) I find that a whip stitch works better to hide the yarn you don't want to see but a mattress stitch helps the shoulder lay nice and flat.

The chain lengths seem to be double or am I missing something. 172 for 3 x left me with a very wide panel.

For size 3X your panel should measure 74cm/29 inches. Just wondering if your gauge is correct and you are using 4ply/Super Fine (1) yarn? If its too large you might have to decrease your hook size or switch to a thinner yarn.

Hi Larissa, It depends on the yarn you use. If the yarn says that you can put the yarn in the washing machine then you can put a crochet top in the washing machine. I hope this helps! Grace :)
