Thank you! I have watched a lot of tutorials but yours are definitely I love the most. I just finished the 6 to 12 months from your mermaid tail tutorial. 💖👌🏻 🙇🏻♀️
hi lovingly, I see that most of the comments are 4 & 5 months old, Do you happen to have this pattern written down now?? My brain works better with hands on, & visual together. thank you for the video, you are pretty amazing in creating patterns. Hope you can help with the written pattern. Thanx
I like this video alot. Very easy to follow. Maybe use different colored font at the bottom when putting what the pattern (Like black) it would be alot easier for some to see
Thanks for watching and comment. Yes, I will definitely use darker color font next time. I do noticed it kind of hard to read because my background is white too.
6-12 mos, instead of 5dc shell, try 6 dc shell and 4.5mm hook. Half way of the tail, change hook to 5mm. Length should be around 20 inches (without fin).
Hi I want to make one for my tall 11 year old granddaughter but the stitch looks very different then this one as the adult pattern. I like this one better what is the difference? Kris
I am getting completely frustrated. I am a complete beginner with the names of the stitches, and I keep messing up. I can’t even get past the first row. I can get to the slip knot, but can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong by the time I think I’m done with the second row. It keeps turning in like a bowl for me. I just want to get this right for for niece who’s due next month. Any advice on how I’m getting this wrong? Update- after a day of relaxing away from it, I started again today, and have gotten it now.
it is going to turn into a bowl at first as it gets bigger it will widen. on a double crochet you yarn over go into the stitch pull through yarn over pull through 2 loops yarn over pull through 2 you should be making 1 more double crochet on each round before the increase
When you start the second round of shells, you slip stitch 2 times to the middle stitch then did a sc. So if I do 6dc shells, would I still slip stitch 2 times then do sc?
I have always wanted to make a mermaid tail. I started it with this video but I'm 8 rows in and mine is laying flat and not like a bowl??? Anyone know what I'm doing wrong???
LovinglyNie Ya your right, Thank you so much for the advice and for your time, Maybe can you make a video showing how to do it with embroidery? thanks a bunch. No worry's if you can't 👍😊
Hi, might be a little late to comment. But a good way to increase size is to kinda follow the pattern before the shells. So after row 8 you would do 8dc and then 2dc in one St for row 9. And then row 10 you would do 8dc and 2dc in next stich. So just repeat this to increase width and then do more rows of shells to increase height.
I'm having an issue on round 2... Is it slip stitch into 1st DBC, CHAIN 2, 1DC, THEN 2 DC IN 2ND STS.... WHAT AM I REPEATING 1DC THEN 2 DC OR 1 DC ALL AROUND UNTIL I GET TO THE 3RD ROUND
How can I do this for a 9-year old? I thought more rounds and larger hook. I have done 3 of these so far but for a baby. Thanks! I will be using a worsted weight yarn.
Hi Lovingly Nie could you please tell me if this cocoon is the one that goes all the way to the babies shoulders like a sleeping bag, and also do you have a hat that goes with it? Thanks heaps :)
Hi, this is not a cocoon, it's from the waist down. But probably it can turn to be a cocoon for newborn. This overall about 14" in length (not include fin)
@@LovinglyNieHello, thank you for the cute pattern. I’m using a smaller hook, hoping it will be suitable for a newborn. How long would you suggest making it for a new baby?
My friend just revealed that she's having a baby (She doesn't know the gender yet.), and she LOVES mermaids, so I'm going to make matching tails for both her and the baby. Also, great video. Keep up the good work. :3 😊👍💖🦄 Edit: Thanks for the heart.
So I am new to the crocheting world...I started this project and I have made it to row 14 ish, and lost the placement of my pin. I don't know when to end or begin. Do you know how I can find it.
LovinglyNie I loved the video and it was so easy to follow as I am still very new to crocheting. I made the tail for my newborn niece and her parents absolutely loved it
+LovinglyNie yes I did do the 12 DC at the first round. then I chain 2, 1 DC in the first stitch next to chain 2, 2 DC in 2nd stitch* repeat 6x.(18sts) I wrote it down in a way that I could better understand but I'm still following the pattern you are gave. then round 3...Chain 2, * 1 DC in next 2 STS, 2 DC in 3rd st. repeat 6x (24 STS) but it still doesn't seem to be going all the way around for me. basically what I'm doing is doing each stitch 6 times. idk if im doing something wrong?
+LovinglyNie I think I know what I'm doing wrong. I'm going to try again. I was counting each stitch as 1 and so forth instead of doing everything between the *s and then counting that as 1 lol. of that makes sense.
Hi, I'm actually in the mid of making mermaid tail for 2-4 yo. It's basically almost the same but instead of making 5dc shell sts, I make 6 dc shell. Half way of the mermaid tail, I'll make 7 dc shell and switch hook to 4.5mm. length about 28 inches. that video probably will be up in 4 days (hopefully)
Michico Garcia lol. I just started to make this one for my 5 year old... hoping I could just make it longer... it's coming together quite well actually. If I would have known she was making a video for a 4yo i probably would have waited. Ugg
