I feel the exact same way!!! I watched 2 tutorials first and i just couldn't get the hat to be a proper size and fit. I had to frog it 3 times!!! Bit after watching this tutorial I finally got it! Other creators made it so complicated but this tutorial saved me, thank you❤

Magic circle R1. 11 dc then sl st to close R2. Ch3, dc increase in each stitch (22 sts) R3. Increase in 1st, dc in next R4. Inc, dc in next 2, rpt (44 sts) R5. Inc, dc in next 3, rpt (55 sts) R6 to 10. Dc in each st all around R11. Ch 1, sc in each all around to make it tight, sl st to close R12. 5 dc in each st for a more wavy ruffle, it can be less for a less wavy brim, sl st the close at the end. R13. 1 dc in each st around, sl st and ch 1 to close R14. Edging st: sc or crab st in each st around

This hat is sooo lovely, I would love to make a ruffle hat or a hat with ears but I have not even spent a moment in attempt to crochet as of yet, so maybe I'll revisit this video in a couple months when I've gained more confidence 😅

Thank you for this tutorial!!! I used med. weight yarn with my 4.0 hook, and then went by the tutorial except I finished with a single crochet and this made the cutest hat for my 6mo old just like I had hoped!!

Noice I'm gonna try 6.0 hook and 4ply red heart yarn hopefully it will be adult size , idea follow a simple beanie pattern and add ruffle

If I wanted to make the hat bigger, when adding a round, am I just repeating the 5th round and found the 2, 1, 1 dc?

Hi,if you want it bigger then me you will have to increase one more round .So in R:5 you have done inc, 1 dc in the next 3 st.And in R:6 you will do inc ,1 dc in next 4 st .That would be big enoug .So R6 will be your last inc round amd then no more you will simply continue as you see in the video .I hope it helped😊

One More Question Please💜 I made the one regular size as your pattern -Perfect! Now making a 2nd one slightly larger as in men's I made the extra round after the 5th as you instructed. But how many of the single crochet rows should added 7 to 10 rows or 7- 11 rows? I appreciate it - thank you again
