How To Crochet Coffee Sleeves 

You have such a lovely clear speaking voice. It makes a lot of difference when I am watching tutorials.

What a good idea to make them for your daughter's birthday party. These were the first project I made when I started learning to crochet. I actuably gave thek out to people at one of my local coffee shops. Everyone loved them. They are still a big hit to this day. They are so quick to make and fun to stitch up too. Your instructions were so clear to understand, and I felt like I was crocheting right along with you as I was making them.

I had to use a lot more chains than 22

u made this super easy because I JUST made it. lol and I am slow to learn stuff but anyway mine isnt perfect like yours I think I need to make my stitches tighter. Gonna try again and see if thats where I went wrong. Mine is a tad flimsy.

If I'm using a 5.5mm hook, how many chains should I do? With 22 chains, the circle is quite small :S Can I just measure it around an actual coffee cup and go from there? Does the number of chains have to be even?

This is my first crochet project, When half double crocheting I find it very hard to get into the loop/ridge after I yarn over. Is it normal for the ridge to be pretty tight where I have to wiggle my hook in?

I don't have a 6mm but if I add a few more stitches it should work just as well right? I have a 5mm and yarn to use with it.

I thought this was a great first project for me. I wish I better understood crocheting in the round, specifically the 'join and turn' as I ended up with akward gaps in the seam. It was ok for a first try, but I may need to see another tutorial to get a better idea of how to do this technique.

Isn't this an EXTENDED half double crochet stitch rather than a half double crochet stitch? I love it, but I was confused because I'd learned the half-double crochet stitch without that extra first loop. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I do love these cozies by the way.

I have been chrocheting for over fourty years and was taught that a half double chorchet you pull through all loops on your hook. has something changed? I admit I could be getting senile lols

Does anyone else have this problem? It doesn't look like it in the video, but when I'm done my work, one side of the project (the first row) is always not stretchy and very tight, whereas the last row, is very stretchy. Why is that?

After the first back hump round and connects and turns she loses me cuz there isn't a back hump to crochet into in the next rounds...she goes too fast and her camera is fuzzy
