Currently modifying the pattern to work for normal weight 4 yarn with tight tension (using a 3.75mm hook), keeping my records here since I've been using the video as a reference so much. Large Horn: Row 1: 8 hdc (magic circle), 8st Row 2: inc. 16st Row 3: hdc, inc. 24st Row 4-15: hdc. 24st Row 16: 3hdc. inc. 30st Row 17-24 hdc. 30st Small Horn: Row 1: 8hdc (magic circle), 8st Row 2: inc. 16st Row 3-18: hdc. 16st. (only 17 rows would be more proportional to the original pattern, but I like even numbers and the look of a slightly taller small horn) Lips: (it's gonna look too small at first alyssa but since there are so many extra rows it will grow in length as well as width) Row 1: Chain 12, add 2 Chains for turning Row 2: 11 dc, 4dc inc on the last stitch. 15st. Row 3: Continue working into backloops on other side, 11dc, 4dc inc on last stitch. 15st. Row 2&3 combined to make Row 4 (which should be 30 stitches total) Row 4: slip stitch into other side of work, add 2 Chains for turning, dc. 30st Row 5: dc 13, inc (by 2st) on the 14th stitch, inc (by 3 st) on the 15th stitch, inc (by 2 on the 16th stitch), continue dc until the end. [When sewing, place the edge without the increases in the middle. Also, this has a sharper look than the one in the video, but I enjoy it. If you don't like it I'd recommend staggering some increases into Row 4 instead of having them all in Row 5] Nose Bridge: Row 1: Chain 18, add 2 chains for turning Row 2: 17dc, 4dc inc on the last stich. 21st. Row 3: 17dc, 4dc inc on the last stitch. 21st. Row 2&3 combined to make Row 4 (and should have 42st total when starting) Row 4: slip stitch into other side of work, add 2 chains for turning, dc, inc on the 20th, dc, inc on the 40th. 44st Row 5: dc, inc on the 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd st, dc. 48st. The side with the tail yarn should be the one that attaches to the lips.
This is probably the coolest crochet projects and pattern i have ever seen. The techniques you use is something i never would have even thought of, it's honestly inspiring seeing how you put the shapes together to form the face. The effort, time and work is shining through this entire project.
Thank you so much for sharing this - I crochet my DnD character cosplays but I had no idea where to start with my dragonborn character. She's a bit more angular, so I will likely build my own pattern, but I never would have thought to make the head a structured hat!

I found some other patterns and cobbled together my own hat for my D&D kobold character. I’m aware that it looks rushed, even though it took me well over a week, but it gives it character.
Sorry you’ve had art theft! As an artist it’s always a problem when you are online. Love the dragon head/ hat. I’m trying to design one that’s like a taxidermy head. You’ve given me some ideas. X
I did watch your video tutorial right to the end and I did love it! It is always helpful to see just how bits and peices are sewn on cause sometimes it can be quite confusing trying to manipulate a piece while putting it togather. I just tried to purchase your Dragon hat pattern so I can make one for my neice for Christmas but for some reason I recieved a popup saying " unable to add item, Something went wrong please try again. I tried again but it still wouldn't work. I have made a couple of different amigurumi dragons cause I am fanatical enough about them to put myself through that kind of frusteration LMAO!! But the end result is always way worth the finger stabs with the needle as I sew bits onto them. Can't wait to begin your pattern! ( if I can get it to work) Thank you :)

Can anybody say how much yarn did they use for a 4mm hook? I got some handmade wool as a gift and i'd love to use it on a special project like this but I only have 100g so if that's not enough i don't want to pull the fibers by unraveling it too much
I have so many crochet tutorials I want to try for myself. Even making a simple bucket hat was so tiring. making this will take months for me. If shien or some other company copies this, its like basically torture for the underpaid workers making it. I wish they could get sued by someone because they even copied blogilates' designs. i'm so glad shien is banned in india.

oh I was being dramatic LOL, I enjoy the process I just prefer to crochet infront of a tv instead of under a bunch of studio lights at a desk. Unfortunately with every job there are aspects you wont like. I’m working on some crochet vlog-like videos, still trying to figure out the process! first one will be out a week from now if all goes well ♡
