You did a great job being very thorough! Thank you! So many people just breeze through the 'easy' parts and it's so nice to have someone not just blow through it. Its nice to have a visual of all the inbetween stuff. Thank You!

OMG! I actually got this right on the first try!!! The puff stitch can be tricky when doing the sc row but I have tried so many different ripple patterns that I gave up on, it feels so good to get this right away. Thanks, Yolanda 🤗

This tutorial kept me from giving up on the pattern. The one thing I did wrong at first was to proceed without watching the entire tutorial first. BEFORE YOU TRY IT, WATCH THE ENTIRE TUTORIAL , BECAUSE she gives a VITAL counting tip at the end. I was frustrated out of my mind with the pattern until I watched this. GREAT tutorial! Thank you!!

+Yolanda... Thank you very much for the pattern.. And for everyone else, who is having trouble with second row, I tried something in second row and it worked for me. I wanted to make a baby blanket of this pattern as I loved the effect of this pattern... So I did a bit of experimenting to get the pattern right. In second row while doing sc, above puff stich it seems 3 ch above every puff stich that mesns for 5 puff stich we see 15 ch stich. I did the trick instead of doing sc in all 15 stich. I simply neglected 1 ch stich for every fuff stich (In a way that I had only 11 sc stiches above puff stich). By doing so I got exact 34 no of sc after second row as it was there in foundation chain... Try it... Hope it helps the one who is having trouble in second row....

Mathmatically it can't work out right because you are decreasing in the dc's but increasing in the puffs so YOu end up with the correct number but when you repeat row 1 you end up with too many spaces for puffs and not enough for the dc decreases for that row or subsequent rows. How do you change that?

Hello Yolanda, Thank you for explaining this lovely pattern. I watched your video several time. I could crochet along the row 1 with you. However, have trouble with second row of single crochet line. The pop up instruction on your video is bit confusing. Should it be 34 or 36 single crochet? If you could clarify, it would be help me to crochet the row 3. I would like to crochet an afghan using this pattern for my personal use. Neena

I have been messing with this for 4 days now....like some of you I couldn't get the sc count to come out right. the reason for that is the puff stitch is demonstrated wrong on this video. if it is done properly it does work its self out right. a proper puff stitch is done the way on the video EXCEPT ....when you pull your hook through to finish the ps the last stitch to pull off is the 1st yarn over there is the to stitches left on tour hook, you then yarn over and pull both off.

Ok I've tried it five times and still have too many stitches in the puff part; with increasing by making chains before and after each puff stitch it ends up with too many spaces where a puff stitch is needed. I wonder if you even see the comments now because you posted this three years ago it looks like. This is very frustrating because it's so pretty I'd love to make it.

Are you doing a single crochet in the chain right after each puff stitch? You would not put a single crochet there because that's part of the puff stitch. You would do a single crochet in the chain one space but not the one right after the puff. In other words, there are 2 chains after each puff. One chain is part of the puff and doesn't get a single crochet. The second chain does get a single crochet. I hope that helps.

Watched this video endlessly, tried the pattern countless times and so disappointed... A beautiful pattern, but can't seem to get the correct amount of SC stitches to begin the next row. I always seem to have far too many and the 5 puff stitches on the 2nd row end up lining up before the previous 3 did.
@katieregan3974
@katieregan3974 8 лет назад
+Angie Davey, same here. I did everything that she did and couldn't get the second row (after the single crochets) correct. I tried multiple times. Maybe a similar video that details the row of single crochet and placement of them on top of the first row would be very helpful, to make sure they are going into the right places. I have a feeling its the puff stitches throwing me off but like I said, I tried multiple times and I am going to have to find a different pattern for now.

Jasmine Anaya Sure it's so easy ....Work the last double crochet to the point where only 2 loops are left on the hook . Wrap the cut end of the new yarn around the hook from the back to the front..The working end ( the one that's attached. to the ball or skein ) should be the end close to you . Draw the new yarn through 2. loops on your hook .... THIS IS 👆IS WAY TO JOIN NEW YARN

This doesn't work. There are not enough stitches to 2dctog because there are the amount of sc as 2dctog so not enough sc! This is why the puffs don't line up. Any ideas? The only thing I can think is to add more sc into your 2dctog??
