I have an idea. If you could show me a picture of a completed width of a blanket I could likely figure it out.

Absolutely love Dragonflies and this was a sweet surprise which i can't wait to try with perhaps a contrasting colored fabric to bring out the dragonfly form. Thanks so much and exited to see what other shapes you might share such as a Mushroom or butterflies?

I just found you with this dragonfly pattern that doesn’t have any “block like” pattern. THAT’S what I want but I’m having a terribly hard time getting it right. I’ve done the chains and did the “head” BUT when I come to the end of the row there’s 20 stitches but no head spot. Also I have 20 double crochets between each head. This doesn’t make the correct stitch count to the next head. HONESTLY I’ve ripped this piece out at least 20 times or more. My poor yarn is getting a very tired look. I’ve crochet for a long time, I’m 83, but THIS for some reason has me dumped overboard😫 HELP PLEASE🦋🦋

I believe she's saying chain in multiples of 20 then add 3 for the turning chain. (20x5times +3=103) (20x6+3=123, etc)

@MichelleSargentSarraGarrett
So if I was going to do a larger project with this I would chain in increments of 20 then add three?

If I wanted to do a twin size afgan, how many chains do you advise to start? Is it multiples of 3? Thanks!

Very clear instructions, is the repeat a multiple of twenty plus three?
@hooks.andneedles1
@hooks.andneedles1 Год назад
Hi thank you I'm so glad you liked it. The repeat would be multiples of 21 and then 20 plus three as that plus three would count as the 21st treble if that makes sense. For example as you are working you need 10 stitches on one side then the head of the dragonfly and then 10 stitches of the other side so 21stitches in total for each block. I really hope that helps if not let me know and I will try to explain it. :)

@@hooks.andneedles1 I'm sorry, can you elaborate more. im very confused
@hooks.andneedles1
@hooks.andneedles1 Год назад
@@izzydif4190 Hi of course it is really difficult to try to explain on here so sorry for the confusion. To create the dragonlfy pattern you need 21 stitches for each dragonfly so this would be multiples of 21 but of course with crochet at the beginning of your row you have a turning chain of three which will count as your first treble crochet (will count as one of those 21 stitches) so with this you will only need another 20 stitches to get to 21. So the last dragonfly block you will count out 20 stitches plus three for the turning chain. so all in all it will be multiples of 21 but then 23 chains for the last one or if it easier maybe try multiples of 21 plus 2. Hope that helps if not definitely let me know.

I am trying to make this stitch pattern into a blanket, but after a few rounds of dragonflies, my stitch count is way off! Any ideas about where I’m losing them at? And how to keep on track? I tried just adding more stitches, but that ends up putting my count off where the next dragonfly heads go!
