THANK YOU for showing how to sew in the ends in the back loops! So much easier than knotting and/or weaving! You're the only one I've seen do this! Now I can really enjoy making these multi-colored grannies! So happy!

I love this way of making a classic granny square. No chaining between stitches except in the corners. Everything is double crochet so I don’t have to go from dc to hdc to dc, again. Much simpler. I’m making a Rosanne-like blanket.

I have no words to thank you enough for the tip you gave us . Flipping is the tip !! I made a sweater with a big Granny Square and it got all twisted ... I asked the teacher and I asked Google about it and nobody could explain me about this mystery ... Until I found you ... Thank God for your life. You are super !!!!

Thank you so much for the learning lesson today. Your crochet is the neatest I ever saw. You are so right about the flipping with each row. It gives the stability to the project that I never got. I have only completed one baby blanket and it looks so so floppy compared to yours. Now you have given me reason to try another. Have you any tips about choosing your yarn texture and appropriate hook size. I have no time to experiment as I’m 95 y o……..Gratefully appreciated

Thank you so much for this informative video!!! I kinda got hints that after the ring was made, it was basically repeat of the first actual square so I kinda left you 🤣 I watched til the 3rd round to make sure but then I just went with it. I used bolder colors, bright yellow, orange, green, red and blue, and mind turned out beautiful!!!!! I'm not sure which I like better, this granny or the sunburst granny!!!

Yep, it is 😅 -that’s kind of the beauty of granny squares, once started they’re very easy and can even be meditative. Just go on forever and ever. I flip flop between the granny, starbursts and sunbursts. They’re all beautiful in their own right ☺️ Happy crocheting!

Just seen your pattern today for the first time and I like it. What I’m doing I am working with one color with simply soft yarn in pink to make my niece a baby blanket. I like how you chain 2 at the beginning , I don’t chain in between , and the 3dc ch2 3dc on the corner I only ch1. When I turn, I turn and slip stitch in the hole between the 3dc, then ch2, and resume all the way around and sl st to the top of the 1st dc. 🧶❤️👍awesome this is my new way of doing it thank you for sharing your pattern.

When I weave in my ends as I go, if I make a mistake (which happens often) I can't find the end and I have to end up cutting the work that I just did.

Even if you don’t flip between rows and it may look like it curves to the right, wouldn’t it just straighten out once you use the project like a blanket or sweater or bag, etc?

If you don’t flip the squares there is a definite right and wrong side - if you flip the squares they are reversible

Hi if not changing colors do you still need to flip the square over?
@nautikrallcrochet
@nautikrallcrochet 2 года назад
Hi Nancy! Yes! Flipping the square is what maintains the perfect squared shape. If you don’t flip each round-as your square grows you’ll end up with slanting/twisting of the stitches.

Thank you so much for the tutorial! One question though, why do we start with 2 dc only, when we continue with 3 all around? After the first row, my square looks nothing like a square. :(
@nautikrallcrochet
@nautikrallcrochet 2 года назад
You start with 2 dc because the starting Ch counts as the first dc (ch 2 + 2dc = 3dc total). It will not effect the round or the following round-I would go back and try again.
