I fell in love with this blanket. I started it a couple weeks ago and have 3 panels sewn together so far and the 4th panel 1/2 finished. I think it will take me a few more weeks to finish. I wish I could post a picture of it so far. I’m doing it in ivory, and it is coming out absolutely beautiful.
This is beautiful! I'm picturing the cotton blankets my great-gran used to put over me & my cousin when we were little. They were thin but super heavy! I had to call to her once in the middle of the night to move the blankets for me so I could get up to go to the bathroom! 😂
Wow this would be a heck of an heirloom! I think I would use Lion brand’s pound of love in antique white. Pound of love gets SO soft when you machine wash / dry it. Someday I’ll collect enough and do it! I also love your ideas for making a table runner or a scarf. Those would be lovely too.
Oh i have lions brand things my grandmother used in her boxes of things. She did crotchet macrame leather embossed things ..so nice. I have found a lot of her tools and tryingg to figure out what theyre all for. But i remember seeing lions brand something or other in her boxes. I must look it up. Thank you.
I think I’m gonna do it! Haven’t crocheted in years. But this pattern is so interesting and beautiful. But not overwhelming. 🎉 Gonna pull the trigger and order the yarn today!
I love this blanket! You’re an awesome teacher. I’m addicted to your vintage mystery patterns. I’m so happy for this tutorial. Thank you so much. You’re amazing ❤
Yes, I watched it again & love it again! This pattern would make a beautiful scarf in a soft dk weight yarn, maybe with an I or J hook for drape. Thank you for reposting this beauty!💕
love it !! here's a tip for making lots n lots of tassles .... find a book (or picture frame) thats the length of your tassles and wind ur yarn around the book however many times is easily workable for you. then with ur scissors cut all along the one edge of loops ... voila !!!! a bunch of tassle strands. 😘
You are not confusing at all. I find you a very good teacher. Thank you so much for giving us your knowledge and time. P.S. Words are hard. It's ok. LOL
Hi there! this is beautiful! im seeing this in a 2 or 3 wt cotton as a table runner for me. Or a wall hanging or a fancy scarf. you are opening up a whole new world for so many folks! xoxo
🧡🧡this! Beautifully worked ma’am. Appreciate the “rouge” to look consistent up the edges. It’s the little details that make it look very clean. Very nice… the possibilities are endless with this… thank you for this. 😊
This is such a beautiful piece❤ can't wait to make it. Thank you for sharing. Your explanation is very simple and interactive. It felt as if you are speaking directly to me
This pattern is absolutely gorgeous! I think this has to be my favourite of all the wonderful patterns you have shared with us. I have a lot of cream yarn in my stash that I have been keeping for the right pattern - didn't know what I would do with it, but this is the pattern I have been waiting for, thank you so much for sharing it!
I have attempted this project! (I’ve restarted three times already lol) but I’m very excited to finish. I’m more of a beginner when it comes to crochet. Love your vintage videos!
I'm a fairly new crocheter too I only started last year. I'm 61 so I have started later in life. But I love this and want to make a table runner.. I'd like to do it in a cotton.. fingers crossed for us both completing this beauty! 😊
I followed your tutorial and completed one column! First of all your tutorial is fine. So no worries needed. Second of all….I love it!❤. I used a yarn that was given to me. The color is a fusia reddish pink and it looks stunning. I just hope I have enough for at least 6 columns 🙏. Thank you for sharing this one. Your take on it is brilliant! It’s time consuming but it’s worth it. Thanks so much.
Just started watching this video after cleaning up from the big holiday cook. Hubs came in to ask me a question just as I said to my screen "Yes, I need you. Corinna is my favorite." Well, it's true! Ok here's a little story: I'm in search of a bit of crochet that is so beautiful and complicated and fine that even expert old ladies like myself will wonder at how it is done. I plan to get this project well underway, then pack it carefully in a bag to stay in my nightstand. When I die, Hubs is instructed to put this bit of work in my hands to be admired at my viewing. I don't care what I am wearing, I just want all the women coming to the viewing to stand there trying to figure out how I did this lovely piece. No printed pattern will exist to be found. Is that naughty? This just might make the cut. Another little story: Last night I dozed off watching YT and when I awoke there was a video with a young lady talking about foundation garments she recommended to keep her "looking snatched". Now as a woman over sixty who doesn't much care about "looking snatched", much less ever hoping to "look snatched" ever again, I couldn't stop watching this video. No idea why. Today, when you were describing your more modern deviation from the original pattern as something to make it look neater, I heard myself say "Keeps it looking snatched." Made myself laugh at myself. Maybe I'm in my second childhood? Someone please tell my body? Thanks for the gigglesnorts. Best wishes from north Texas.
I love your "viewing" idea! Mind if I steal it? I think I would like to put a table full of my personal crochet items for my friends to help themselves next to my coffin. With a sign reading: Remember me.
@@sylviac2631 The table of keepsakes is a wonderful idea. And I'm thrilled you like my silly idea. Best find that perfect project. Something that important needs to be very special, no?😄
I suspect it might be worth developing your own - work all the complicated details you picked up on from elsewhere in. Texturing and the like. Maybe mix in some tunisian crochet or knitting. Add woven in other colors for details. And spend some time just working with what you can do, what you like, anc build a vision before building a beautiful shenanigan.
I am turning 61 in a couple of days, October 30th so I can relate. I am finishing my 3dr blanket , need 3 more and they are all different. Making them for daughters and grandchildren so they have something to remember me by once I am not around anymore. I told them if they ever feel lonely and miss me to just wrap the blanket around them and it'll me hugging them. I can also relate to you, my inner child gets me in trouble and my grankids love it. I also tell my daughte that inside this old body 40
I started this beauty with thirty instead of twenty eight flowers. The pattern is very time consuming so I've put it aside, but will definitely be my continuous WIP.........❤
Oh i really like this one❣ Even in an ivory color. My hubby is going to hate my yarn addiction, 😆. I may have to compromise n just use what i do have already! Or..... sneak a skien every couple wks, 😝.
OMG! I bought the pattern book with this Afghan back in the 80s. I started making this 4 years ago and finally finished it in December of 2022. It turned out beautifully but working in one color got to be quite boring.
Wow oh my god this is such a beautiful pattern. You are a very good teacher giving clear instructions which are easy to follow. You have got a new subscriber😅. Please make vintage wedding gowns
Iove this pattern. I think it would looke awesome with each panel a different color and the tassels made with all the panel colors. Not sure would make the tassels. Extra panels could be added for larger beds. I also thought size 10 crochet thread for a table runner. Thank you for sharing this. 😊
Sorry forgot that Monday was a holiday so I just got that stuff in the mail today. I have to rely on others to do things for me so some times it doesn't get done when I want! LOL Any way they said it should be there on Saturday! I hope you like them. Best wishes and blessings to you and your family
OMG, the Elegant Daisy Chain blanket!!! I actually have this pattern!!! It's in the Leisure Art's Afghans for all Seasons, 1993! It's one of those patterns I've always wanted to make, but never got around to it. I have so many of their books! I see where you modified the pattern... I was following along with the pattern in my book, and the 4th row calls for the lace stitch, not an sc row. I started thinking 'wait, where's that? I don't see anything about crocheting single crochets in every stitch, I thought it was supposed to be the lace portion!' lol. My pattern also doesn't have the bobbles, although in the picture, it looks like it should! I'm going to have to make this pattern, to see how it looks with the original pattern. I'm just curious :). I like what you did with the pattern, though!
Hi there Thanks for sharing very beautiful!! Just wondered if the original pattern is available at all? Thank you so much I appreciate your tutorial very much!!💐🙏
Thank you so much for taking the time to help us all out with this pattern, it’s beautiful. I worked this panel along with you, but my bobbles are more prominent on the wrong side. Is there a trick to get them on the front side? ❤
I wanted to see how complicated this pattern was going to be, so I just watched. I want to make this in a slightly thinner yarn than #4 acrylic yarn, but I can't save it to my crochet playlist to go back to later. I thought maybe RU-vid had taken away that option, but when I opened another video to be sure, the 3 dots to use the option to save to a playlist is there. Did you chose to not make this one available to save to watch again later on? This pattern is lovely but it looks thick and heavy with the 4 worsted weight acrylic, which would be great in a colder climate than I live in, lol, but here in AZ I wouldn't need something that heavy, lol. Is it heavy or is it just the "sample" you made here that makes it look stiff and heavy? I know, I'm sorry for all the questions. Thank you in advance.
It should be savable, only videos marked " for children" are unsavable, let me check my settings, thanks for letting me know, I will update you in a few moments Update: I just checked the settings and it's as usual, so this has to be something on youtube's end, I'm very sorry for this

@@justvintagecrochet Thank you so much! I got this on my list to do now. The only problem is I have to pick a color. I have a bunch of sage green I hope I have enough of. I love all your videos- thank you for all your hard work making these for us!❤️❤️❤️
No, That is just the way I crochet, I have no Idea when I started doing that, I have tried to correct it, but that feels like wearing shoes on the wrong feet lol
Hahaha.....if you only knew how long & hard & unsuccessfully I have tried to change to doing yarn under instead of yarn over! Somewhere I heard that doing yarn under creates neater stitches.
Yarning under on the first part of a stitch makes it use slightly less yarn without making the stich smaller/tighter like if your yarn under for the whole stitch.
The only time I think yarning under for a whole stitch is sometimes worth it is with amigurumi if you are finding that the stitches are too stretched out.
HELLO! I'm from japan. It's a very nice way of knitting. I'm actually knitting now. Can I sell this work? Also, can I put the knitting method and knitting diagram on Instagram?

Hi! Quick questions: What was the original publishing date and was the fiber really a 4, or smaller? I want to make something authentically vintage as a wedding pressie for my cousin who's REALLY into vintage everything. When i mail the throw to her, id like to add some fun facts such as when this pattern was 'new'. I also want to make it using fiber comparable to the original. Thank you!! I had a hard time deciding -ALL of your vids are wonderful.... but this one i can have complete in time to get to her pre-ceremony.
@@justvintagecrochet Thank you! Breathing a sigh or relief - I have boxes of old 4-weight (some I'm sure as old as this pattern - now i can be *really* authentic). 😄
I love all your videos and beautiful patterns but I would love to ask you be a little slower as for someone who is newer to crochet, it’s Very difficult to follow, especially when there is no scheme/ pattern available.
I love the pattern however the background noise/music playing during your directions is very distracting. It’s almost like you’re making the video in a busy public place like a restaurant with people talking while you are talking. Can I turn that off? Thx!
