This video will show you on how to crochet a Yoda beanie (0-3 months). Thanks for watching 🙂❤️ Facebook Page : / lovinglyhandmade Instagram : / lovinglynie Twitter : / lovinglynie
I did this for 3-6 month with a 4mm hook and medium yarn (which called for 4mm hook on label) and I just did an extra row of increase and followed the increase pattern so I did 5 dc and 6 with two dc and then I added an extra 2 rows if dc all around to make it reach down to my son's ears! Just an idea if you don't have a bigger hook on hand
Just made this for my son that will due March. I am excited! Thank you for sharing this awesome pattern. It turns out pretty good. I can't wait to take lots of baby pictures! We do appreciate your work! Keep the videos coming. ☺️ Stay safe.
For bigger sizes just go up a hook size! 3-6 months I used a 5mm hook and for 12 months a 6mm hook with DK yarn. Bigger the head bigger the hook and use Arran weight yarn for hooks 7mm and up! Experiment!
It depends on the age/size if it's 6-12 use a 6mm hook with DK. If you want 12 months plus you will need to increase the amount of stitches each round to the measurement of the circumference of the head. You could use a 7mm hook but it would be quite a loose stitch.
DK is a little thinner than Worsted so try a 5mm hook and follow the pattern. The best thing abour crochet is you can pull it back and start again 😁 Good luck!
I gotta say, I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I found it very easy to understand. I will say you do need to know your stitches before hand. However, I do wish she added a written pattern that included other sizes, for other children as many kids from many age groups would appreciate this video.
Any questions on changing sizes, i may be able to help. I am currently making one for a 7 year old, 10 year old and a 12 month old. to adapt the hat, look up making a basic beanie then come back for the head. For the 12 month old i did all the same stitches just increased my hook size up to a 6.0 mm.
Excellent video. Very easy to follow. Even with the sound off and subtitles on! If you are a beginner at crochet figure out the stitches before trying the pattern and use the pause button! Best Yoda Beanie pattern on RU-vid.
Great video and I love the written instructions that you included!! I sometimes wish I could hit the fast forward button on a large project LOL Thanks for posting
Would you please print a size gauge after the first three rows, perhaps? I used the indicated weight yarn and hook, finished the beanie, only to have it be 3” too short, both width and height, It would help us to adjust the hook size at the beginning!!!
Hi (: I’m newer to crocheting and I’m more comfortable with a magic ring so If I wanted to start this with a magic instead how would I do it ? Would I crotchet 6 into the first round and increase in my second or just double crochet 12 into my magic ring just the same instead of doing it in the slipknot?
I want to make this beanie for my daughter who has a head size of 17”. I seen below that I could use DK yarn and a 6mm hook, but I want the stitches to be tight like this beanie. Would they still be tight?
Wow something isn’t adding up for me. I used the recommended size hook and yarn. Have the right amount of stitches thru row 9 and the hat is really small. Not hitting the dimensions lusted. I can’t figure out what I did wrong. Any suggestions. Going to half to frog it and use a much bigger hook.
I followed the pattern for the ears since i already knew how to crochet the hat part, this is perfect for my son's monthly outfit, he's turning 5months btw.
I got confused with this too. Because it would a hdc from hook then 9 hdc after that them chain 1 and go from there. It was I got from it, but reading what she said does not make seen.
When you went to make the ears (right after you chain 12, 11hdc, then loop, turn work,) when you started next row to hdc, were you only going in the top stitch or both? It looked as if you were only going into first/too part of the stitch and I didn’t hear you clarify.. Also, thanks for your wonderful videos. You have no idea how much they help me!! Im 40 years old, had a broken back and failed surgery. Now i have an enormous growth in my upper spine. Severe pain, and limited use of arms. My first grandchild arrived in August, and I couldn’t be there to hold my daughters hand while she delivered because of covid. My other daughter is due in May, and i wont get to be there to hold hers either. 😭 It tears me up inside and because of my disability, i may not get to hold either of my grandchildren.... i can, however, crochet them little presents to let them know l always loved them and i am there in spirit. Thank you again for all the things you have taught me through your videos. I am actually not half bad at this now, thanks to you 🤣🙏🏼😇
Hi Jamie, I pray and hope that you will feel much better soon. I know it’s hard for not being there to hold your grandchildren and hopefully this pandemic will soon be over and we all can visit family and friends again. Crochet the Yoda ear in both stitch, sorry for the confusion.❤️
I know this video is old, but I was hoping someone may have a written pattern I could send to my grandmother. She can't do it with a RU-vid video and I can only find patterns for 6 months which is way too big.
Just saying, if you’re going to do a tutorial for people to follow, perhaps you need to slow it down and be more clear about what you’re actually doing. Just a bit of constructive feedback for future posts. I totally got nothing from this and that’s a shame, because I liked what you were doing, until you totally lost me after the chains.
Sorry about that, this is one the video I made when I just started making tutorial video. I improved a lot since then. You can actually set this video to slow mode just by slicking on the setting on the screen.
It isn't a beginner's pattern! Learn the stitches first then pause the video at each stage. I am an intermediate crocheted and found thus very easy to follow.
