HOW TO: Custom Licence Plates - Farming Simulator 22

With the ability to have licence plates on FS22, custom number plates are starting to appear on maps, often branded to suit the region, provence or state the map is located in. However, not all mod maps have this feature added, or perhaps you want to have your own 'themed' licence plate. This How To video is showing my method of editing the licence plates which I have used a several maps to date.
Get the software you need:
Giants Editor - gdn.giants-software.com/
Notepad ++ - notepad-plus-plus.org/
GIMP - www.gimp.org/
Paint.net - www.getpaint.net/

so i followed the steps but my plate doesn't show up in the editor and I noticed you have a textures folder at 8:40 and mine does not. I threw them in a texture folder and it wont show up either.

Dumb Question: Is there a way to limit it to 8 characters rather than 9? That way I could have a NSW Plate such as CE-40-YE without having to add in an extra 9th character? Also, is it possible to make custom number plates into their own mod, instead of editing the map?

No such thing as a dumb question! Not without some XML editing. Not sure on the stand alone mod, beyond my talent and knowledge!

@@ArgsyGaming I think I can guesswork my way through the XML to knock out a letter. I've done XML tinkering for other stuff before so I should be able to get it working.

How are you changing the font color of the letters on the plates? your other plates have different colours but you didnt show how to do that?

You can choose the colours of the letters/numbers in the store when buying your equipment, no need to edit anything in the xml

Is there a way to have an empty letter on the plate? You know, simply a free SPACE, so i could write "Good Job" with a space instead of these stupid special characters... Thx....

Sorry for the late reply, not that I am aware of - it may be possible to edit the code to have a blank, but probably above my level of expertise!

Only if the map maker adds them in, can't be done yourself

Did you make custom plates Simon? May be that the update has changed/effected some file paths? I haven't noticed any issues though

@@ArgsyGaming Hi thanks for reply :) Didnt make any custom plates looked to confusing, to me just happened so I have no idea how to get the uk plates back in game tried some folders moved over nothing? worked the FR map Us Map and alpine maps are there but cant see anything else>

I used this method to copy Calmsden's UK plates to another map, the plates worked okay but for some reason the "GB" logo that's on the plate doesn't show, it just shows as a white square instead, I wonder if you have an idea as to why that's happened?

May be an additional texture you haven't copied across? Would pay to check the Calmsden files and see

@@JordC93 theres a file that says blueolicence plate and a file named logo you have to transfer to fix the white square

Absolutely, but you need a clean hard drive for it to work, so just put the console in the dishwasher, needs to be on a heavy duty wash to make sure there are on bugs or viruses on it. Then, don't let it dry - plug it in while its still wet and then you should be all set to buy a PC and able to customize your licence plates 😜😜😂😜
