That is stunning, you are a master without doubt. Can I ask when do you remove the masking to keep a crisp edge? when the paint is still wet, or dry, or tacky? Regards David

Beautiful work. I think the Kawasaki logo would look better with more contrast between it's colours, though, using a dark and a light colour together, to make it easier to read. I think a thin, black outline around the letters would look good, to break up the gold and silver.

SORRY TOSHIO, IT'S AMAZING. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP OF THIS, YOU GOT WRONG.....PLEASE READ!!!! It looks amazing Toshio, but I have to correct you on the part when you said to "pattern with hands before it dries. And remove immediately" is correct with having to pattern it with your hands before it dries, but wrong with peeling the cling wrap off immediately! Before I get crusified by anyone for correcting a mistake Toshio made, I am in no way having a dig at Toshio's work, he is amazing! But, I have done this exact style, just different color to my 2004 GSXR1000 after watching this, and after doing the cling wrap exactly how Toshio said to do it, it most definitely did not look anything like the pattern I just saw Toshio do! I also noticed, there was no answers to anyone who asked how long the cling wrap got left on for. So I went and tried so many test bits with leaving the cling wrap on for different times, and it makes a HUGE difference on the end pattern depending on the time you leave it on for! If you want much bigger but smeared in spots, and in my opinion shit looking marble patterns, then peel off the cling wrap straight after you make the patterns with your hands! This is not me trolling anyone and making shit up, I have done this effect ALOT now on many different parts! Because you have to lay down the amount of paint, that if for example: You left that amount of paint to dry normally, it would run! So when you put the cling wrap on, make the patterns with your hands and then peel it off straight away, most of the paint is going to come off WITH the cling wrap, and in the process of that it will smear and make what's left on the part look terrible! But, if you try to lay down just a "little bit" heavier coat than normal to stop that, it will start to flash off before you can use your hands to make the marble patterns and you have to start again! Or, if you do manage to get the wrap on before it flashes off (it is crazy, just how fast you have to put the cling wrap on before you're screwed)it will lack the depth that laying a "very" heavy coat down will! If that is your desired effect, so be it! But it WILL NOT look like what any of you have just watched Toshio do! The absolute best way I found is to do a heavy enough coat, that it would definitely get runs in it if you left it, but not so heavy that it's dripping on the ground before you wrap it! Then once you have wrapped it, and made the desired patterns with your hands. Leave the cling wrap on for atleast 30 minutes to 1 hour before peeling it off or until the paint has dried, not just flashed off! In 1 test, I wanted to see if there was a time that the cling wrap would actually tear apart and stick to the job if it was left on for to long........I got impatient after a day and a half, and it still peeled off perfectly so although I wouldn't recommend leaving cling wrap on for that amount of time, because it may cause a reaction with the paint itself! It won't just tear apart and fully stick to the part and ruin it! If anyone does think I am just wrong and trolling.......I started a channel and made a slideshow of some pics, when I was in the middle of doing my bike the first time (doing it the way I described it, but I used different colors and used pearl since i had no Candy color) If i was good with a cam, i would've/would make a video on it. But I suck, so pics it is! I will make another slideshow with pics of what it looked like when i first finished it, and now! Plus other parts i have used the cling wrap marble effect, doing it EXACTLY how i described and you can judge for yourself! Sorry Toshio if you take offence to this, It is definitely not my intention! You are an amazing artist.

I always found the candy would tear when removing sharp striping or lettering, it destroys you when that happens.

ラップ塗装のキャンディレッドを明るくさせるにはどうすればいいでしょうか?
@toshiomatsuzawa8290
@toshiomatsuzawa8290 7 лет назад
ご質問ありがとうございます。キャンディは塗り重ねると、濃く暗くなりますので、薄く塗れば明るくなりますよ。それか下地の黒をガンメタにするのも一手かと思います。よろしくお願いいたします。

Hi, I have tried a few times to paint my tank in the marble effect. But I can't get it right. I get to the point of the silver paint and the plastic but then it goes wrong because after applying the plastic, when you peel it off, nearly all the paint comes with it along with some of the black underpaint, so the effect is gone. In your video, your plastic is clear when you peel it off? How do you do this? What plastic do you use? I use sparkling silver paint, is that wrong? Please help because I really would like to paint my bike myself.
@marcsorensen1184

What kind of paint is your black base? Most marblizers are very thin and may react if the base is laquer. Its always good to spray an intercoat clear between the base and marblizer. Also, how soon after spraying the marblizer are you putting on the saran wrap and removing it? Take it off as soon as you lay it down and get the effect you are after. But your black base shouldnt be coming off with the wrap. If its laquer and the marblizer is too, they are reacting with each other.

Hey Marc. Thanks for your response. I have thrown away the wrap and sort of created my own effect. I love how it turned out. Someone wel also mentioned the 2 paints influencing each other. Thanks again for the answer. I will post a picture soon when the bike is ready to Roll :-)

Why in the hell would you paint the logo back onto the tank? Kinda negates the custom aspect of it all, don't it? And what do you mean "paint from an edge"?
