Joel - you went NEXT LEVEL on these mods, I'm extremely impressed! And of course I love your dedication to ensuring your model uses only 'on-color-scheme' parts. The Lego Group's hard shift to multi-colored internal parts (often visible in their finished models) is a travesty and there needs to be more of us crafting beautiful accurate models like what you have created here!
This is absolutely amazing my interior pales in comparison. I was never able to fully connect the cockpit with the cargo hold. I will definitely be doing this before eventually placing it in a glass cabinet. Worth the wait
Agreed. The biggest issue for me is when you CAN see the hidden colors. My first video on this channel over two years ago addressed this problem. The UCS Star Destroyer from 2019 had “hidden” colors showing in multiple spots. Changing the colors, or “color correcting” (what I call it), is the reason why I created a Lego channel. I’ll be the first in line to admit that I’m an overly picky person 🤣
Amazing mod, I love this ship so much. The only UCS set I have. Few years ago I took on a project and recolored it to Jango version and Prototype version. Yes, please for instructions. Although until Lego makes all of these brittle parts again, I am not modding the ship. I only added some 1x5 liftarms to lessen the sag of the front section. I found a mod on some forum online.
Thank you! Yes, it’s a shame about two of those part types being specific to the build. It was when the first piece chipped that I realized “Oh, really? Dark red is a problem?” From there on, I was as careful as possible when disassembling it. I was really sweating it when it came time remove the bigger pieces.
@@SlimboneLSWC yep, I when I built it, those 10x10 panels made really weird cracking sounds. Although from what I saw online, most often those 6x6 parts break. Dark red and brown are terrible, glad they were fixed. However new parts from 2022 and 2023 also sometimes develop hairline cracks, more often than older parts.
You're back! Very nice changes. There are times when open studs are acceptable, but only when they help give a more rough texture. I also regret to inform you, I have abandoned my project of making multiple ships in the scale of the UCS Super Star Destroyer. The project turned out to be too difficult and borderline impossible to do, forcing a 12 stud long Imperial Star Destroyer that is a brick tall. Without completely abandoning the diamond shape of the Star Destroyer, it is not possible to do that. I will make a video going over my to scale Fulminatrix later.
What a compliment!! Thank you! No way I’d sell them. I have a job and Lego is my hobby. I finally reached 1000 subscribers today, and that was what I needed to get motivated for the instructions.
Very impressive! I remember doing mods to my Slave 1 UCS over several years, including adding an interior and redesigning the cowlings and fins according to CraftedBricks and tinkering a bit with the pilot section, but never being able to add the passenger seats due to size constraints. I have been more or less satisfied with the changes I have made to my model but its great to see that you were able to compile all these modifications into a single video that is easy to follow with this much attention to detail. You just earned a like!
I just bought my slave 1 today and I saw this prior before buying. I love the interior design for more figs and stuff so I might look into doing when I’m more liquid! Thanks for you video ! I loved it
Something that I’d say about the colors they used like the green and the tan seemed at least to me to function as two things. 1 to help break up the build so when putting it together you don’t get lost trying to find the same color pieces over and over. And the second one would be references to boba himself given his color scheme is similar
Another thing not mentioned in this video is that I believe the 2015 UCS Slave I isn’t actually minifigure scaled. If it were 10-15% larger, that would be more accurate.
Blud built a monster and thought i wouldn’t notice about ?? I’m subscribing cuz you’ve done a great job, your slave I is kinda a synthesis of all mods that have been made on it and i gotta say i love it 🔥🔥🔥
I have to admit the mods are great for the most part, but some are unnecessary and you're so agressive at the set the whole time, it feels like you hate the original model. For example, the orange and yellow pieces on the inside of the model were meant to be hidden, and some of thebparts you replaced with grey or black remain hidden, so you didn't need to replace them. You act all holier than thou about some design choices that ultimately aren't even a big deal. Edit: Also, the pilot seat does not move. Only the passenger area below the pilot seat moves.
I wasn’t aware that, in universe, the pilot seat doesn’t move, until after this video was published. I wish I did, but at least I do now. I’m allowed to my own opinions and am free to share them, just as you are. Also, if you watched the whole video, In the last two minutes I shared exactly what you’re expressing: “Once again, and especially if you made it this far, thank you from the bottom of my heart for following along and listening to me nitpick about every aspect of this ship. For most of you, I completely understand that the internal changes made to this set are overkill. When the ship is finished and put on display, you’d never see these changes, at least not on a regular basis. From my point of view, I prefer to love every aspect of the model. Why shouldn’t it be the best that it could possibly be, if I’m comfortably able to do so. Love Lego. Love the build. Love every part of that experience.”
Im with you there. Especially the back side looks even less textured now. Some of the pieces with studs on both sides helped a lot imo, but now it is all just a light grey blob. I think this is just a problem of the set itself and if you want to keep the structure of the model somewhat similiar, it will be hard to avoid that issue. The brickvault model of course does not have those issues, but building the bottom section is a whole different challenge. Anyways while i dont like all mods done here, its interesting to see so many ideas combined, and i think most of the mods are worthwhile.
I had to look that one up. No, not from me. Haven’t really given much thought or any serious effort into complete custom mocs. Maybe one day I’ll have the talent for that.
@@SlimboneLSWC ya man that’s for sharing and for making the instructions. I’ll probably have to get extra parts for this but it’s well worth it. I’m worried about my red bricks cracking so I’ll be careful. Did you ever mod the UCS Gunship? That could be a fun project too
@carbob9964 I bought the UCS Gun Ship, but disassembled it a couple of months ago. Eventually I’ll use some of those parts to assemble it into an actual minifigure scale version. I wouldn’t attempt to design one, myself. No need to, because there are so many good ones out there.
I would love to see what you can do for the Lego Star Wars malevolence, still one of my favourite Star Wars ships of all time and while enjoy the Lego model I feel you’d be able to make it so much better.
this was so cool i genuily enjoyed it i cant belive this guy isnt at 50k already the quality both visually and audibuly are superb hes entertaining and talented i mean what he did was remarkable well done man i hope you get more recognised i mean you have a sub from me
Wow! Thank you so much, Monty. I’ll have another video in a couple of weeks. Mandalorian minifigure display, and after that, I plan to color correct the UCS Venator and add an interior.
I’ve never posted a video to this channel during the summer months. It’s motorcycle season, and I’m a biker. Once October hits, there are maybe 4 days worth of riding in Michigan. I WILL have the instructions out by the end of the year. Please remember I have a full time job, and free time is precious to me. I appreciate your patience.
@@SlimboneLSWCsweet! Can’t wait to see that. Glad I found your channel and another builder, such as myself, who loves improving on the LEGO designs/models!
@SlimboneLSWC I just got an amazing deal on this set, how long before the instructions? Worst case do you have a list of the pieces and part numbers I would need? I feel like I can follow the video well just wanna ballpark estimate on price and which exact piece amount and part numbers.
@@ARTOFBLACKMOUTH I’m glad you got a great deal! I’m so sorry, but I haven’t even started the instructions, yet. The goal is to have them finished by the end of the year. Been working A LOT of this Venator rebuild. That video should be out in a month or less. It’s been an incredibly time consuming and expensive project.
Which show are you referring to? The pilot station where Boba (or Jango) sit has seats to the left and right. You can see this is the ships schematics as well, which are discussed in this video. If you’re referring to what is seen in episode 2, watch that scene again. There is another seat in the cockpit area to the left (his right) of Jango.
Just built the James Bond Aston Martin. What are your thoughts on the model? Do yo uthink it could be improved? And if so, how? PS huge thanks for your aweosme vidoes.
I haven’t seen it in person, but I’m willing to bet it could be improved. My father has the 400 dollar lime green sports car. Almost every day I look at it and want to rebuild it. There are blue circles (from 3L pins and axle/pins) visible everywhere on that model. And underneath, it’s a sea of colors, with all the Technic panels/pins/axles/gears/bushings. I could go on and on 🤣
From what I understand, there was a Disney+ special documentary that covered the topic. The passenger area rotates. The pilot station doesn’t. Wish I would have known all this before creating this video.
Yes. To buy this 9 year old set new in box these days would be expensive. However, there are some pieces in that set that were only available in it. The dark red pieces that were mentioned on the video, and the trans clear cockpit piece. That sucker is worth a lot of money new. When I bought the second one for the Jango version, I spent 60 dollars for it, and it was used and scratched.
Nicely done. I did a video on the playscale set with interior (not this account but @BAUFmanBricks ) and I have had some people ask the potential of the UCS set. I’ll have to send them your way.
And sorry, I didn’t mean that as a shameless plug. I just started my channel and for some reason my Slave 1 video blew up from a week ago when I posted it. It’s kinda crazy yours just posted, hope you get a lot of traffic! I I haven’t gotten into UCS sets and I don’t think I will but I love seeing the proper detail you’ve put into your builds
