First mod Video of any youtuber i can 100% respect. You didnt just give the minifigs different accessories or added a controllpad, you actually changed the build and playability by a lot. Great Job. Love the way the cockpit slides open

Great vid.. I actually put that set away after I got it because I was so annoyed at the lacking design (especially for how high priced it was) but you addressed all the biggest issues it has.. I'll have to get it back out now!
i think the price was based on it being a bigger scale, would rather have it a more accurate scale in comparison of the 2022 x wing and tie fighter. they should of made it smaller having more bricks available to add details but ppl at lego think bigger equals better I guess lol
I could kind of understand why they didn’t make the cockpit like in the show but why on earth weren’t the others changes added? The front engines literally needed 1 piece each to make it more durable while the bottom only needed a longer technic pin. Really weird but great mod. It makes me wanna try it myself

I see what you're going for but adding a second layer of curved bricks makes the Grogu section stick out too much and makes it look a bit simplistic. I'd reconmend instead of elongating it you should raise it by the same amount, then fill in the gap with slopes and curves similar to the surrounding body. That way you still get the height you're looking for without sacrificing the sculpt. I'd also look to replace the 2x2 area where the clips attach to with something lower profile such as a 2x2 slope with two 1x1 clips at the top.
I ordered the parts, and have some remarks: - In the part list, you have a 2x2x2/3 slope replace the two 1x2x2/3 ones. I wish I had ordered the two separate ones too, for they would nicely fit at the now open spaces at the canopy. - Your fix for the booster engine ... I followed every one of your steps, but it doesn't stick: the tile you add at 2:39 makes the engine tilt downwards. And the plates you added at 2:43 are suddenly gone at 2:46? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it doesn't seem to work very well. - Your idea in the comments of tiling up down the sliding canopy is really great, I added that. - I found it a pity that I couldn't use the action feature of shooting after your mod. But since the 2x6 plate at the bottom of the slide can be placed one stud back to create a small opening, I was able to mod it so that I could still have this feature while still having the sliding canopy (I the construction as in the manual instead of the 2x4 black brick, with below the brown piece two 1x1 plates and the red connector pin you discarded: not the sturdiest solution, but it works). And if you worry about the tilting of the 2x6 plate: use a 1x2 plate at the end and that's fixed.
done this mod, sadly doesn't work. but i think the shooter for this set is inaccurate anyway because there's only one one of them, whereas in the show there's two.
The part list that shows on screen is not the same as the parts list that he correctly has on the Google drive. I ended up needing 1x extra dark bluish gray and 1x light bluish gray part.
Have one more question; why are you using a 1x2 tile at 2:39 instead of a plate? Will that keep it in place better? Edit: got all the parts and applied the mods btw, love it :D thanks again!
I don't know what are you talking about I cannot find the link for the pieces I want to mod mine and one Starfighter I just got to do it it's my favorite mod for an N1 Starfighter please # have to mod
With this modification it looks like your gun function will not work, how have you solved that? Otherwise I really like the mods. Especially the engine fixes.
I modify the sets mostly for looks and accuracy, if you’d like the shooter to work you’d have to sacrifice the sliding cockpit mod. Glad you enjoyed the mods 👍
It’s generally within a couple weeks to a month after the official release. Lego’s normally pretty good at getting sets out there, but it can depend on your region
The set you can get at Lego or other retail stores, and for the parts I generally use bricklink. Just research your seller and it can get you any part you need :)
Funny enough the actual ship actually doesn’t have landing gear :) But hey, why not? I’d recommend using some of the old bracket pieces in dark bluish-gray to make some folding landing gear or to get/build a small stand 👍
Great modifications indeed, I plan to use them all, thanks! :D Does the canopy part have some friction and thus, will it stay closed on its own when tilting the ship?
The canopy may be a little loose, to make it stick a little more I’d put a small plate underneath the modified groove plates on the main canopy build and then some tiles to the main track section. That should give enough friction to hold it wherever you want 😎
