How to Cut a Medium Length, Disconnected Fade

This is one of my most creative cuts on film as I have many haircuts happening in one style. Learn how to connect a common short fade to a longer top and longer back, a combination of a "fohawk" and a "mullet". It combines many of the techniques into one haircut. It's not something I do everyday, but combing these different styles is what keeps us learning! Please enjoy.

Welcome back!! At 9:30 I'm a bit confused how you are determining how much to cut as you work your way down the back of the head..I've never cut hair this way before. Can you explain what is going on here please. I'm not a fan of the style at all but you have given him such a quality cut

I am connecting horizontally from the guide on the outside to the middle but then over directing a bit to save length which will create a point (or weight) in the middle. Does that make sense? It's really just a continuation of what I was doing on top but then switching my hands to cut palm to palm. I hope that helps!
