What are your thoughts on using an angle grinder and flap wheel for coping? Obviously easier if you're grinding MDF and the design cut is not too intricate. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OrVBbDYTm5U.html

Watched my dad doing this when he came to help me working on my first house. Like in the video, he cut every piece by hand with astonishing accuracy, using tools that he'd owned and used since he was a boy working in a joinery shop. Sadly he's not with us any more but really took me back to watch a skilled craftsman sharing the knowledge on here. Thanks.

@@spendtimesavemoneydiy It's perfectly understandable why someone would use a short intro to advertise themselves with a jingle (why wouldn't they)... but it's getting the balance. For example.. if someone is showing you how to change a timing belt on a car and the video is an hour long then a little innocuous 'lift' music is spot on. Thanks for your reply and keep up the great work. You help us a lot mate.

Thanks for this. I am about to fit oak skirting to an old Victorian house. Your tutoring and saw skill is very good and I will follow this on some rather pricey oak that is getting a Danish oil finish as the wood is to add to the character of the room. The original skirting was ripped out in the terrible 80's and it is tough getting skirting to match the 1880's.

Good video thanks. I cut the straight cut on the mitre saw with only a slight back cut. Better job and more surface to hold wood glue, reduces the chance of shrinkage and gaps down the road.

Not bad for a first attempt - I'd be delighted with a finish like that

Spend Time, Save Money, DIY I like the way you show all your tools on the job, and offer little tips from the trade, it’s obvious your a professional and not an actor or an annoying bearded American with thousands of industrial sized power tools inside their man cave. Keep up the British zeal for king and country! Bravo🤨

This exactly how I was taught to do internal corners, best video on youtube on this subject. But I find it quite difficult on the double sided skirting boards. Tricky to mark out mitre and straight cut when there's a profile on both edges of the board.

Expertly done. I've tried this many times and it's really tricky when your walls are anything but square. Practice is the key I guess. It looks easy but it isnt.
