How To Cut A Stone Paver With A Chisel

In this video, I show you how to cut a stone paver with a chisel. I cut a patio stone in this video, but the process will definitely work for any type of paver (interlocking, retaining wall blocks, etc.). I also use a cold chisel and brick set to cut my paver, but you can get the job done with one chisel if you want.

Nice video and explanation. You should point out that the stone work should always be place over a soft surface ( grass, sand...) to prevent premature braking from the scoring lines.

Thanks , I have a small job to do , will be doing it this way instead of using a power cutter (which I don't have anyway ) but I do have chisels and a brick splitter sorted, I love saving money.

Doing the score line on both sides helps get a better and cleaner break. More labour in flipping the slab.

Your very last hit was a stray hit. Stray hits and mistakes are much more likely to happen when you are tired and reaching towards the end I.e. those last critical corners. No matter what medium you are working with, be aware of your own tiredness x

This isn't a stone slab. It's a concrete one. Stone is much harder and won't cut as easily as this. Check what you've got before you start and save unecessary wastage. And creators need to check their terminology first, too.
