How to cut and sew a shirt dress without pattern/Nelostitches 

Thank you very much ma,it was well understood but why the 2,5" lapel allowance at the down part of the gown? I mean the down side that was kiss pleated ? Cant it be done without that allowance?

Hi Mr Lemex, the shirt has button from the neck down to the hemline so you need the 2.5 inches for button stand on the down part too but you can also make the dress without button on the down part just like normal dress.

@Jennifer uwazie First I measure out my half length plus 1 inch joining allowance e.g 17 +1=18, fold your fabric with your biggest measurement and add 2 inch sewing allowance and extra 2.5 inch to the front for button stand. For the kissing pleat I used 8 inches for my pleat and the pleat is in 6 places so 8×6 + your waist circumference + 5 inches for button stand that is how wide your fabric will be and the length is your desired length.
