Excellent video; short, crisp and to the point. It's always great to see "how to do it" videos that stay on topic without a lot of extraneous comments. Well done, and thanks!
This man's mastery was just fed to you on a silver spoon. Years of experience just graced your eyes and ears for free. There should be a 'donate directly to this man's bank account button' in this video. Showing everyone why and how you get paid for what you do is kind of crazy. I hope you were compensated well. Either way... I'm grateful. This video will make my life easier. Thank you
Great job!!!!! I've been doing this for 20 years and this guy is 100%correct in his steps a technique.....ive watch 5 videos on guys ways of doing this and this man Is the only 1 that is even close to right...the other tell you to make two measurement 1 for length other for the scribe....thank you I'm glad someone knows what they are talking about...
Excellent demonstration man, it does look pretty simple. You're a good teacher, I've learned more in this video that months with my boss to be honest. Cheers!
Wow! I looked at 6 videos and your video is short and on point.. Your video is better than all other 6! Im so glad I ran across your video! Thank You! 👍🏾
dude.. thanks. I know the video is older now.. I love that it is under 2 min and told me exactly what I wanted to know... now im off to mess-up cutting tiles..LOL but at least I know what I should be doing! Thanks.
I'm replacing tiles and the tiles that were there were not done as nicely as this. I'll be more confident cutting my tiles and know they will be cut properly. Great instruction video. Thank you.
Great video!! Quick, informative and to the point. I've been looking for a good video for weeks to make sure I'm doing it right. Finally going to get carpet knife since it's hard to do with a utility knife. Great tip on using your finger as a guide.👍
Simple, during the new construction installation. It’s very difficult to remove and install when you have electrical wiring hvac equipment and other junk in the way. Great video though love how your knife cuts like butter.
If you pinch the tape to the side it'll stay at the length you want. You also typically have a bit of tolerance depending on the grid so you don't need a perfectly straight line just less than like 1/8" off
Great tips... THANK YOU!!! I've got a question re 'Inserting replacement ceiling tiles around sprinkler heads ' Every time I have to replace a water damaged ceiling tile (2x4, 2x4, etc) (acoustic ceiling panel, acoustic ceiling tile) it's a major struggle finagling the new tile up into the grid while getting the sprinkler head thru the tile hole. It's extra extra difficult, if not impossible, when: - head happens to be close to grid or tight to grid corner - very little room above grid (ie: duct work, pipe, etc) Is there a trick that I'm not aware of? I googled the following and NOTHING comes up?? "how to insert ceiling tiles around sprinkler heads" "ceiling tiles around sprinkler heads" "how to replace ceiling tiles around sprinkler heads" "replace ceiling tiles around sprinkler heads" Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the video, I was prepared to use this method and realized my new ceiling tiles don't have that lip around the edges. Ended up using a multi tool and it was cake.
So how would recommend marking very heavily textured drop tiles? When I try an mark by scoring I can never find my marks again because of how "Rocky" the visible surface is. I have never felt with drop ceilings and just signed on with a maintenance crew that are a total clown show and have no clue what they are doing, so I'm sure there is a better way to do it than how they have been showing me. We have been marking on the backs of the tiles because it's smooth. Also there is so much texture that trying to recut cut the edges where it seats on the rails and drops down is absurd because the stuff just disintegrates and leaves really rough edges. Idk if you have any tips but the building flooded so it looks like my life is these awful tiles for awhile.
