Very useful video, but one thing I found helpful is to try to make only one line as far as possible. With just one clean line I got a good break with no chipping
I already made a couple of the mistakes and played around a little, now i won't make more. Unfortunately, 'gotta go back and buy two more to hopefully return one. T.y. for the demo advice. Actual glass cutters (even oiled ones) require Real Tender pressure, and needs a small test chunk to get the accurate pressure.
I’m almost 100% sertain you creates micro cracks by filing it and using a razor. I did this and I used 2200 wet sandpaper a long way, still cracked after a week. How long did your survive? Can you melt that material???
Hi Turnah 82, thanks for watching. I was using two files just because I have a set of 6 that fit in a pen holder type thing. ...My first attempts (before watching this video) with a glass cutter did not work. The depth of the glass is really thin compared to regular glass, so you need a test piece to get the accurate pressure, angle of slice, and to see what other techniques you need to use. (I am planning for about 3 faux pas until I get accurate shaping at this point). Maybe test on the broken protector, and plan similarly
