Thank you so much for demonstrating this technique! Very helpful since so few stylists actually seem to know how to cut and layer curly hair, shrinkage being the main problem in my experience. I trust myself now more than most professional stylists in my area.
I did this cut last year and loved it! Had some complications in life, let my hair go, you tube did a few updates and this video was lost. After searching for you for 2 days I found you!! This time I hit subscribe!!! I award you Best cut of 2021... maybe 2022?!
I’m bout to try this on my daughter’s hair tomorrow. The last cut she had, the lady was nice and all, but cut her hair like it was straight. It grew out all wonky with an awkward reverse layer. (Good thing her curly 3a/3b hair is waist-length so it’s not really noticeable) I don’t wanna go through that again, so here’s to my success in the near future. 😂 I’ll come back and edit this comment if it works out. (And further note, my daughter is biracial, therefore I am learning how to tend to a different hair type than my own, which is type 4 hair in locs. 😅 Our hair does have low porosity in common, so that alone saved me in taking care of it. She does need her trims every 3 months, so I’m gonna take over that after I reshape her hair tomorrow. Huzzah.)

I used to cut my hair in exactly this way about 20 years ago, before unicorns were used to describe everything! Lol. If you want bangs, you can also do 2 little front ponytails side-by-side, which you pull horizontally across your forehead to leave the sides longer and the centre shorter. Always err toward longer, and you can easily do it again if you need to trim more

i need to cut my hair so bad but bc i'm so bad at describing and communicating i need someone with me to help. i always feel like the hair stylists treat me like a complete moron and having to have my mom talk to them for me at 22 is really embarrassing. maybe i should just try to cut it myself instead. i'm not hard to please, i just hate talking to hair stylists
