Im no expert but I have managed to keep my spa looking great, Ive had problems with green water, cloudy water and all sorts to this is how I fix them up!

Thanks for your videos such a big help !! On Facebook people say I can’t go in the tub for 24 hours due to chlorine!! I’m going to start using my Chem connect now instead of the floating dispenser.

I shock dose it when. Fill it then leave it overnight to heat (or all day to heat) then get in it, once out I stick on the chem connect and leave it on all the time putting a couple of tabs in when needed

Hi Andy good video 👍🏻 all my chemical levels are ok expect my alkalinity level which is high and I have used a ph minus & alkalinity reducer and it still seems to be high. How can I sort this as I am cautious to use the spa if alkalinity is high!

Its a hard one, if in doubt do a fresh fill with water and start again... it will only cost a small amount of money on the water bill so its worth refilling and starting again!

Hi Andy just new to having a spa and have purchased the St Morritz. I’ve just shocked dosed yesterday and will be checking this afternoon and then putting the Chem connect on Re the filters, what’s the best way to manage the dirty ones once cleaned. Some will say keep in water and then others allow to dry, can you advise what you do please cheers

I have to be honest that’s one of the most difficult ones, I keep mine in a bucket of water (while dirty) until I have 4 or 5 then I wash them all in the washing machine then dry them..... if you allow a dirty one to dry them all the gunk / skin / fats / oils tend to dry up and they never really clean. I mean this is just what I do and it works for me, please don’t assume I’m doing it right but it works for me :)

Hi, I need help. Had a problem with my tub, the tub was showing very high levels of chlorine then next day 0 (originally was worried it had bleached due to way to much so left it for a while) then tub went green. I did a shock and no difference, did that again and no difference. A day ago I emptied the tub and refilled after cleaning it. Did the first off shock chlorine and come back today tested and still 0. I don’t understand as the amount we are putting in is 2 1/2 teaspoons for 669 litres of water the Hottub is just below minimum line as troubles with the bubbles overflowing when in it (the whole family) what could the problem be. I’m new to the hot tub scenario

Maybe something to do with dirty filters? Or maybe a bacteria in the tub and you need to clean it with a detergent before refilling? Don’t panic sometimes you just need to take your time, don’t rush! Refill, shock dose, wait a while until chlorine is settled and right levelled and then do TA and Ph, sometimes pollen in air can make the water change again don’t panic! Hope this helps!

@@AndyJimVlogs hi thank you, hot tub is in our conservatory connected to the house so not left outside at all. Cleaned with detergent before refilled it last time. Will check the filters

Morning Andy... I sorted my Chlorine, ph an alkalinity levels yesterday then went to work an let the kids play in it safe in the knowledge they'd be ok... this morning the ph an alkalinity are low again so added more ph+... how long should these levels stay stable for roughly? Cheers

It’s all depends if on usage, water quality! WEATHER!!! I struggle some times with low ph and ya then I’ll go weeks and month with it perfect….. keeping the same regime! So it’s all relatively simple yet complex 😂

How would you raise your Alkalinity in your spa if you get a low reading. My chlorine is high today but Alkalinity is low?

I would use Ph Plus to overdose it and that will bring Ph and TA up then use a little Ph minus to bring the Ph back down, it will keep you TA up tho

Hi m8 how often do you put 2 tablets in ? Does it just depend on how many times you use ? I don’t use mine a lot but don’t want to keep putting Chen’s in while not using

I put maybe 4 a week, they only really get used up when it’s dirty!

Yeah you need to make sure you keep onto of the chemicals, the multi function tablets have algicide, clarifier and a stabiliser as well as a sanitiser so it helps keep the water healthy and clear

Is there any reason why you dont use TA pluss to buffer the alkalinity and ph up?

@@AndyJimVlogs ok iv just got myself a tub and found TA so easy to buffer both at the same level rather than messing around with 2x chemicals to move ph and alkalinity up then pull ph down

Shocking the water is normally just a start up thing. So what your doing is almost over dosing with chlorine to get rid of any normal bacteria that came from the hose / outside tap

@@AndyJimVlogs ok thanks I have just only ever used chlorine but bought the multi function tablets so I put one in the chem connect and one in the floater but if I fill water with hot water everytime I use should I shock it or is no point cheers as I heard a lot shocking the water but never knew why

@@davejackson7238 Hello. Can I ask you more about the Multitablet? So you mean after you fill the water, you put straight the tablets into the filter without testing the pH? If so, how long will you wait until jumping in the tub? Thank you in advanced!
