I have deep dropped for rock fish here in California and we stay at about 300 feet and just a 10oz weight with a two speed tuna reel is a lot of work of just reeling it in

in what world can this be considered fishing? manipulating buttons on a robotic rod and reel system...and the fish was just as dead as this soulless fishing method. if the goal is just to land a big fish for the photo op why not just use depth charges.
