HOW TO De-pin/Re-pin E46 LCI/Facelift 8 pin tail light connector

I think what amazes me the most is not the fact that you used F1 sounds, or that you as a BMW owner plan to use turning signals... But that during your whole mowing, on 1 car drove by.

Dang I thought I was the only one that struggled with the 8-pin connectors. These terminals really are a nightmare to depin, so thanks for making a video to document the process!

Audi’s from the 1970’s had really weird wiring that caused phantom brake lights to flash! BMW’s have always been much more reliably wired!

At the exact moment you say so lets see that happen ,,fingers in the way and no clear shot as to exact position 😣😣 but im guessing it can be figured out , so was kinda useful as now know can be done.

2 quarter turn - better known as half turn

You just need to start a new channel that is nothing but mowing set to F1 sounds. I’d watch that all day.

I had a similar problem in my old Renault Megane, I wonder if it is a failure of this type of system. I ended up soldering a new ground wire to the lamp holder and attaching it to the chassis on a nearby screw. It was also the left taillight. On my case before that it was a Christmas tree, every bulb in the bulb holder blinks in a diferent ratio wen I switch the blinker on. Cheap car, cheap repair.

Strange - on my 2003 these sockets are removed only by lifting the plastic spring tab (no need of additional tool). Hello Jake, what is the size of these crimps you mentioned you bought for the connector?

It's that tedious kind of work is why I do not work on cars. My hat off to you and all those that can. Will what you did prevent the wires from becoming a charcoal briquette again? I really don't understand how a ground wire can melt a plug. I could see how an undersized ground wire could burn up. is that what is happening?

Is the 8pin for the Adaptive brake lights that illuminate the top bulb brighter once you're heavier on the brakes? Or something else over the 6pin type?
