Great video! Good advice and I love the line "We are not all robots like you, Elon." This is a SNL Stuart Smalley lesson for sure..."I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and doggone it people like me".

Ha! Yes definitely. I should watch the Stuart Smalley sketch with Michael Jordan right before my next pitch to pump me up 😂

Great Tips to follow and Yes! Singing it out makes it all feel better. A thing a family member told me about Anger is that if you are angry, its your day you feel the anger, not the person/place/ publisher you are angary at. Only you feel that "range" and it does not effect them at all. But allow yourself to get angry and want to break the world (just don't really do/ break anything) But I know that the correct "Yes" will come. The fear of a No is huge but a part of "design" Have you ever had a potential "yes" but the clauses they wanted made you say "no"? It's scary to think that a YES can be as dangerous and a No Keep it up!!!

I’ve said No to a publisher who couldn’t offer an advance for the game. That’s a dealbreaker for me. Thankfully there were other publishers interested in that game so it was less scary to say No to a potential Yes. And yes thank you, I feel like my next Yes is right around the corner… 🤞

Thanks for this video! I’ve been trying to reach out to publishers for the past year or so for a couple different games. I’ve brushed off many rejections fine, but lately as more time passes, each rejection stings a little bit more. Just today got another one that had me a little down. So pretty nice I just so happened to come across your channel and this video.

Yeah they can definitely take a toll. Especially if you haven’t got a “yes” for awhile. It can wear you down. But, we just have to get through the no’s to get to the yes’s :) Thanks for watching!

This is a great topic. Hearing no is a muscle that I try to work out. I've been scared to pitch some of my games because of the fear of rejection. I even pitched to a company I knew probably wouldn't be interested in a game of mine, just so I could hear no. lol. So thanks for tackling this topic!

Sometimes it’s easier to pitch to someone you know will probably say no, isn’t it? Takes the pressure off. I’m pretty used to hearing No, but it’s definitely been a minute since I’ve got a Yes. Ah well, we keep moving 💪

These are excellent tips and I hope you get the yes very soon! Do you think a contributing factor might be a slow down in the industry? There was quite a surge of board games during lockdown, but now that people are going out again for entertainment, could publishers be reducing their number of new games?

I haven’t noticed a slow down… one publisher told me they have all their games locked down for the next couple years so they aren’t hearing new pitches right now. But none of my No’s have been because the publishers just don’t have room. They just didn’t like my games enough 🤷‍♀️ Oh well, gotta keep moving forward.
