Hi Tunde & Julia & Hani & Ann!!!!!! I have a question if you all have a moment. I made royal icing 1st time & I decorated 2 cookies & its been over 33hrs and its still not completely dry inside. I pressed my nail thru it & its by all accounts "dry" but not all the way thru. Its been very hot & humid but I'm inside with central air & the house is under 65 deg.... Did I maybe make my icing wrong??? I used 1 egg white & powdered sugar until very, very stiff & I thinned down with lemon juice..... Its "15" second consistency and I used it right after making & sealed the rest in a container with plastic wrap & a lid "thank you Julia & Hani for that tip!!!!! I just don't know...... I Adore ALL your videos and Each of You!!!!!! Your ALL Absolutely Beautiful, Amazing, Awesom Artists, Thank you!!!!!!!! Have a Lovely Day/nite!!!!! Thanks Again!!!!!!!! You all should do a Huge Collaboration together, it would be BEYOND AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! ♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥
Cherokee Miller Hi, I use egg white royal icing, but I don't make it very stiff and add just a little lemon juice. Then thin it out with water for flooding. I don't know for sure if too much lemon juice can affect drying, but I don't think so. How long did you beat your icing? I heard about cases when over beaten icing did not dry properly. I had drying issues only once, when a supplier gave me a meringue powder to try and the icing I made with it did not dry for 3-4 days.
Thank you both!!!!!! I made a small batch by hand with a spoon LOL So I didn't over mix I just wanted to see how it tasted & try getting the consistency down. I will try using the oven lol AWESOME CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT JULIA!!!!!! GREAT!!!!!!!!! TY Tunde idk, its just weird!!!!!! Will try using a real recipe. Its just for fun so I don't need a lot that's why I just used one egg white lol & just kept sprinkling powdered sugar untill it was like a thick frosting & then thinned with lemon juice..... That's it, I didn't use anything else...... Will try the oven & even a fan!!!!!! Its chilly today so will try again!!!!!!!! Love how Beautiful the icing looks..... Thank You!!!!!! ♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥
Cherokee Miller I am sure ***** is right! (Unlike me, she went to pastry school) Try to watch the ratio and you don't need to make a huge amount. If you want to use 1 egg white, then add only a little under half pound of confectioners sugar and only a few drops of lemon juice. Be careful with the oven, the lowest setting of mine is 170F, which is too high for drying (your icing might crack).
Mine's 175 lowest setting...... Will try a fan LOL But Appreciate your help!!!!!!! Your both just AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! ♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥
