We hope you enjoy todays video. While I didn't grow up in a house full of antiques, my family loved history and travel, and my father’s hobby of restoring classic vintage cars exposed me to the beauty of classic design and the sentimentality of objects that have a story & personal meaning. Do you love Antiques? xx
I grew up in an architecturally designed house by my uncle Mark Windass, that was built early 70’s in Kenthurst, NSW. It was a modern style of that time, a tri-split level with vaulted ceiling’s. My mother curated both modern and antique furniture pieces for this home and they looked great! She had a great eye for interior decorating. A couple of those antique pieces are either in my current home, having been gifted by my parents, whilst many others are still with my parents. At one long stage in my interior decorating life I preferred all new and current furniture pieces, not appreciating the mix of current trends with old. I got over that! And for some time now I recognise I’ve been mixing antique with new furniture pieces. I chuckle at the full circle I’ve come to recognise 😄 I just loved watching this! With thanks for a very professional production 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@ElleAshterra Hi Linylle, it is lovely hearing the history of your journey with Antiques and interiors, especially hearing that is shared within your family. I am very happy to hear of your new found appreciation for these pieces and also can imagine the space you create must be rich with stories and family history. I hope you have a beautiful week ahead, thank you watching! xx

I’ve inherited a lot of antiques. When I was younger, I didn’t appreciate them. But, now that those family members have passed on, I cherish them as links to the past
Hi Marnie, thank you for watching and sharing your experience. Yes you are so right... these family heirlooms and antique items are infused with memories and stories.. a beautiful reminder of the connections cherished. xx
As my mother was a war bride from England, your videos take me to my memory of what a beautiful housekeeper my mother was. As she did, you inspire me with your lovely presentations in your videos. I love every one. I am in the process of a move sizing down and you help me identify what is my greatest desire to present my ome as loved and well furnished for me and my husband extending our invitation to visit to family and friends. Thank you is rather small to say how much your channel is my favorite.
Hello, what a thoughtful and wonderful comment to receive. I am touched to hear that the videos take you to the memory of your mother and to hear how she inspired you. The intention around your new home sounds beautiful and inviting! Thank you for your support and I look forward to sharing more xx
Dear Suzie, i so love and appreciate the content and the way you present your interesting videos ( no endless talking... but time to absorb your information )...... i am from Adelaide .
Greetings from Ireland Suzie, and yes I agree wholeheartedly, very good presentation I feel I've been able to process what you have communicated so well. Thank you.
One of my favorites Ms. Anderson but I was hoping a shoutout to "Antique malls" Awesome place to source from & honestly with prices You can catch deals all the time! I can almost guarantee, 99% of the time :) Gum
Fantastic! This video helped me to properly edit my belongings, and pull from what I have. You inspired me to recover and paint some things that I already own, and also to invest in some statement pieces that I am missing. Just what I needed right now! I was co side ring starting over with my decor, but you brought me back to the aesthetic that is true to my heart. Somewhere along the way, I became distracted. My style was confused, and cluttered. Thankfully, I kept some antiques, and items with a beautiful patina. Artwork and picture frames are where I am having the most difficulty.
Hello Nancy, thank you for your comments. I am glad that this video inspired you to look at and work with what you have already. Have you tried antique markets and thrift shops for frames as sometimes the artwork within may not be to your taste but they can be removed and the frame reused, even painted or re gilded? Have a great week. Suzie x
Hi Joan, thank you for watching. Yes definitely agree... we like to think of it as a capsule wardrobe, selecting pieces over the years that are timeless as you share xx
I can see quite a few things in this video that I could incorporate in my own house. I also see that I could incorporate these things with the Belgian style which is my favorite style
This is my favorite Chanel!! I have decorated my own home with your ideas. I love ceramic bowls filled with coral. Coffee table books etc. I have learned so much from you..
So love this video...so me, and I love how you put these beautiful inspirational ideas..to life. I live like this, and feel grateful and blessed hoping this way of life for all... ❤
As usual very informative and inspirational. Like the idea of using vintage linen sheets to cover chairs, pillows etc. Lovely with monograms! Thanks Suzie for these ideas.👋
I recently subscribed to your channel and I am happy I did. Your contents are very inspiring and helpful. Thank you so much for your dedicated time and work. Can you do a video on quality furnitures, such as sofas. I’ am having such a difficult time choosing a sofa for my house. My style ranges from European farmhouse, Belgian, Antique, Vintage California style . I live in a 1733 year old farmhouse. I am drawn to Amber Interiors, Studio McGee and April Tomkin. Thank you.
Hi Sharon, thank you for watching and for the video suggestion on selecting sofas and other quality furnitures, as there are quite a few things to look at, we have added it to our list of video ideas :) xx
Hi Jordan, I am glad to hear that you have an appreciation for antique and vintage pieces! They are definitely my main inspiration when styling a home xx
I really enjoyed your video. Your style of decorating is different from mine, but there were aspects of it I really liked and will remember for future projects. Sending this video to my cell phone in a text for future reference. 🤗👍
@@suzieandersonhome My preferred style of decorating is classic/traditional and virtually all my furnishings are antique. I'm somewhere between Victorian and Colonial, not as cluttered as the former or as spartan as the latter. I collect antique banquet and Gone With The Wind lamps, brass, and silver. I'm an artist that sees color very accurately, so I enjoy using color in decorating. Balance and symmetry are important to me in choosing pieces. I did some decorating a few years back for a gentleman who loved antiques, and he was very happy with the result. I'm getting ready to start my own decorating business in the next six months, so I enjoy watching and learning from channels like yours. 🙂
I love watching you video because , I learn sou much how to incorporate , antique and vintage, to decor my house . Thank you very much for this amazing ideas I learn from you .
Just beautiful! I live in the southern part of the Central Loire in France. I collect antiques from all over Europe and hit the brocante every chance I get. This video was just beautiful and the rooms very well designed. I just found you today and have subscribed.
Hi Dr. Lisa Stinson, wow how beautiful you are living in such a lovely area! I can imagine you must come across some stunning pieces, our most favourite items have been sourced from French trade fairs from our travels too. Have a great week ahead xx

I really 💙 your vidéos, you are from far my favourite design & home decorating RU-vid channel 🌼✨Thank you so much Suzie, you are the best 🤩 (PS: may we suggest some topics ?)
One of fav pieces, is one we half created ourselves. Approximately 30 years ago, I found a strange headboard in an antique shop. It was a cheap 50's/60's bed head, which had had added on top, what I think was the top of an old sideboard or wardrobe, made of silky oak. The design was the timber cut in a curved pattern with a pineapple design in the centre. I purchased it for some nominal amount and we then had a furniture maker make us a silky oak framed bevelled edged mirror. He then attached to the top, our found antique piece. I absolutely love our mirror, it is very large, 1250mm x 1000mm plus the antique piece on top. Everyone comments on it when they first see it.
Hello 56music! How rewarding to have created a piece yourself. Especially with the story behind it as well, it sounds like it makes a true statement. I love the sound of the curved pattern and pineapple design. Thank you for sharing xx
Informative and Beautiful distribution of content. I have a question when I am vintage thrifting how do I go about sourcing to inquire as to an items value? Thank you for your expertise
Hi Moe Joe, thank you for watching! There are various reputable sites on line which I will list but this article is worth reading to understand who to trust. www.heirloomsathome.com/online-resources-for-free-antique-appraisals/ I also subscribed to Worth point www.worthpoint.com and found it useful. In the past I would buy an annual publication from Carters but now they have an online option. www.carters.com.au Hope this helps xx
Its amazing what antique furniture that you can find on Facebook and local stores for CHEAP. Like people are wanting to just get rid of old, breathtaking furniture. I have so many beautiful pieces I got for $250 and less.
Hi Madame X, you are welcome to send me an image at enquiry@suzieandersonhome.com so I can see your room. Modern lamps and bedsides can work but really depends upon the way the room is styled, bed linen etc xx
Hi Scott, hope you are well. Not yet, however that is definitely a future dream of mine. At the moment we are busy building a new store! Thank you :) xx
It is great to hear that you love more colour! Yes the colours or lack of colours we choose definitely can shape the way we feel in the environment. I personally feel calm and soothed by neutrals, but I know many prefer some bolder colours to feel energised and vibrant :)
I recommend you look at our video library. There are videos on Grandmillennial, decorating with green, decorating with pink, island style, Victorian and more. Thanks
