Hi Patti~ I have just found you! There are so many tutorials on shells, but this one is my very very number one! I had been looking for something unique and pretty, and found the perfect answer- with you! Love your imagination and creations. Thank you for sharing with us !
I'm new to this. And want to thank you so much for teaching me to put it in the oven to get rid of the wrinkles. I just tried it and OMG so impressed it worked so well.
Very pretty! I decoupaged a tray and put all my different decoupaged shells on it for my Mother's birthday. She loves it. Thank you for showing us how it's done.
What a stunning outcome and so simple! I have loads of shells living on the gulf coast of Florida to do this with! Thank you so much for teaching this! x0
Tried doing a shell today for the first time and I am quite pleased with the result. My design was a little too big for the size of the shell. Love your video. I sometimes I have to look up the products you use. I have just started to do decoupage and love it especially with the lockdown. Norah.
patioelf I will be trying this out among other things you have posted on your RU-vid channel Ms Patti...as soon as I do...I will tag you in my post on G+...Thanks again for your wonderful craft vids😘😘
Wow, you always find the best things to decoupage. I just adore these shells. I live at the beach so I will be doing this project!!! perfect for a cold winter day project, thanks Patti
I am actually getting napkins tomorrow and doing a bunch of shells this weekend. I just hope I find some cute napkins. I have seen alot of really nice ones at the Christmas Tree Shop. Have a great weekend Patti
You too Deneen. I'm sure you'll find some pretty napkins. If you're on Facebook there's a page called Mason Jar Madness and Decoupage where you can post pictures if you like. It's a closed group but tell them Patti from youtube sent you. They also have a napkin exchange and a bunch of advice if you need it. It's a fun and active page. Have fun! Patti
😍😍😍 I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your channel!! ALL the Gorgeous creations and easy-to-follow tutorials!!! Cannot wait to start to make some of my own!!! Keep up the Excellent things you share with us!! 😊👍👍🌷🌷
So cutee!! ... I love it!! my youngest son gave me a few shells and I didn't know what to do with them but now I got another project I added to my list. ;) Thanks for sharing the video!!
OH YES! Loved the intro too =) I got so caught up in the beauty and simplicity of the project, I plumb forgot about it......! BTW Went to work on making one within an hour of watching this video! I have some flamingo, tropical napkins from the dollartree and went to work.....far from perfect, but lots of fun! Thanks again xo
First I want to say thank you for all your wonderful ideas... For the idea of mica...I have found a way to have sparkles from those orange to cream colored shells--you find very easy on the shore s of Cape Cod--that are very thin and easy to crush and when you crush them you get a powder that can be used the same way as mica.
You are welcome! And now I want to take a drive to Cape Cod... That sounds beautiful. I hadn't thought about crushing some of those tiny shells. I'll have to see what I can find on the shores of NJ, but I think I'll wait at least until Sring 💐time!🌸🌷 Thanks for that idea…. Patti
patioelf LOL! No, I wish I had one though! I have my Bachelor's Degree from FSU in Anthropology (hence the username, lol!). I only had the opportunity to be on one Archaeological "dig", and that was in college! My husband is FIXUPSTUFF! hehe ♥ dig
Love your work and especially wanted the hydrangea napkins and tried to place a large order but it wouldn't let me, I'm pretty computer savvy. Drove me crazy!. I give up! Beautiful work!
Thank you Redinna! Yes, the Mod Podge Spray that I use in the video is actually very good for sealing these to make it waterproof. I made one in colors to match my bathroom which is ocean inspired already. :) Have fun! Patti
Hi, your link is not working and I want to make shells that look like these. Especially interested in the Martha Stewart pearlized paint and the “Mica Mineral.” If you can help me find it. Thanks for such great tutorials, I have learned so much from you!
Oh wow, your intro is truly entertaining, and I love your videos. I'm gonna try this out and tag you in it if it's okay with you? Once again beautiful work.
I don't have guess or mince. I made one without it but yours are much better with those ingredients, can I use something besides guess, like white paint? I like doing g them better where you glue a smaller but deeper seashell and glue kind of standing up and people uses them such as in showers or by the sink and put their rings in them.
Hi. I just discovered your channel. I am in love with this idea & can't wait to gather my supplies & get started. I didn't see the list of products that you used in the description box. Did I miss it? Loved your iMovie!
+Alicia Hayes Hello Alicia, and thank you...No you didn't miss it. I list it on my website now but you only need decoupage glue, a brush, a (high gloss) top coat-Mod Podge makes a nice spray, and you may want some glitter. I use acrylic nail files to file away any loose edges too. I keep my earrings and rings inside of these and I just love them. :) Patti
Thank you, I hope you give it a try. I want to do more of these shells because I'm using them for rings, earrings, soap, keys, there's all kinds of little uses for these things! *that intro was so dramatic wasn't it? it made me laugh too. Patti
I’m finding your video late but it’s amazing! I find that when I work with napkins it gets very wrinkled and bumpy while I am applying to the surface do you have any tips?
+mary dolansky Hi Mary, I have not used other papers but because they are not as flexible as the napkin it would be harder. You can cut images out and decoupage them onto the shell but it wouldn't like as nice because with the napkins you have the whole pattern there, but if you cut an image like a rose or flower out and decoupage it- it can look like you just pasted a flower on the shell, unless you know how to do shading or faux painting the backgrounds. Hope this helps! :) Patti
I don't have mica... the shells I've made before I didn't use guess bit I did use the glossy modge podge and glossy speay but now I'm out of it with leaving me with the regular modge... would that just be okay or can you think of something, I'd have at home to use as the gloss sealant? Thank you. Looking for your fb page.
Hi Sandie, I just sent you a response on another video. That old site is gone now and we're on to bigger and better things...I hope you like my new site :)Thank you for your lovely comments too! upcycledecoupage.com/ Patti
Maura Feener Thank you Maura, 15 minutes times is fine in the oven. You can take it out right away and let it cool off on the counter top. Hope that helps! Patti
Precioso, me gustaría ke se tradujera en español... gracias por tu trabajo y enseñanza...el Señor te bendiga grandemente muchos besos desde Sevilla España
Beautiful Natural Brown Essence Thank you for letting me know. I just finished the blog post where I put all of the individual item links up. You really helped me out-I may not have known. As soon as I finish a video I'm on to thinking of what next weeks video should be. :) Patti
Oh please! do not move your hands sooooooo fast and move the items so quickly, is impossible to see details, out of focus most of the time...bad video! if you are trying to "teach something", make it do it slowly and clearly explained, show the products well also...how do you expect us to learn if you don't show what you use...disappointed...moving on to next video from another artist.
