I found this puzzle very confusing... Here are some steps: 1. Find the city that is listed in the newspaper (the red letters) 2. Use the city that you just found and find the corresponding numbers on the audio file. That will be your first CODE. 3. Now go to the evidence with the red and blue numbers. It's a pattern, you have to figure out which numbers go in the question mark box. 4. Once you have those two numbers put them together (don't add them) and that will create your next code. Example: 4 and 5 would be 45. 5. Use the code you just created and find the corresponding city. That city will be your PASSPHRASE. I hope this is clear enough.
The city I got from the newspaper is Charlotte My sequence numbers are; 13(R), 2(B), 21(R), ?, 27(R), 18(B), ?, 26(B), 33(R), 34(B). The code for Charlotte is 7,7,8,5
So you need to find the 2 missing numbers and the first code that is from the state of the news paper, the 2 missimg numbers are the code of another state for example i had portland that was 5903 and my missing numbers were 68 and 85 that were the code of Buffalo

So the numbers you get from the coded paper is the code for a city, this city will be your pass phrase. As for the newspaper, once you figure out what city it spells out, look at the reel and whatever code corresponds with that city will be your code. So in short the coded paper figures out your pass phrase, and the newspaper figures out your code
OK everyone please listen up. I have no idea how not a single guide gave clear instructions. This is why everyone keeps getting this wrong. CODE: Is the CODE that corresponds to the anagram in the newspaper. My newspaper was an anagram of SEATTLE so my CODE was: 8276 Passphrase: the Passphrase is the PLACE that corresponds to the numbers in the coded message. My question mark numbers were 9952 and therefore my Passphrase was the PLACE this corresponds to in the "Numbers station broadcast" For me this was: atlanta I really hope this helps someone because this took me way longer than it should have.
3 years late but can you maybe help me? In my newspaper I got Houston and I went to the numbers station broadcast and for Houston it’s “0,6,3,5” and for my coded message the numbers for me are “red; 83, blank, 91, 95, 99” and “blue; 85, 87, 91, blank, 105” could you possibly help me with what I told you?
I just couldn't see that link between the coded numbers and the list of city numbers but once I got that the rest wasn't that bad. I really enjoyed that they put a deacent puzzle in the main story to try and solve
this was a serious pain in the ass. once I figure out my city in red letters, I used that as my pass code then had to process of elimination passphrase for each city. at least I think thats how it went. my brain is fried
Where he fucked up by confusing folks was not starting with the newspaper, red letters in newspaper correspond to a city, that city is your 1st code, the decryption of the numbers will correspond to another city, that code you find will tell you the city that is the paraphrase
For people having truble with the blue color secuence. I usually is adding +1 or +2 per number So for example if you get 62, 64 ,68, ?, 82 It is adding to extra for each number. 62+2= 64 , 64+2 (+2)= 68 , 68+2 (+2)(+2)= 74 , 74+ 2(+2)(+2)(+2)= 82 And its the same if it's adding +1 or +3 for each and so on.
It’s because it’s bugged lol it only works for some people. I think the only solution you have is either restarting the entire game or wait for a fix from treyarch
Find the pattern in the blue and red question marks. With the 2 double-digit numbers you have that were missing, Put them together and match the number with the city from the number station broadcast. Then, on the newspaper right down the letters and find the city that matches your letters. After, decrypt the disk by using the numbers of your city and the name of the City you found.
Still makes no sense on the newspaper it says Detroit and the numbers for Detroit on the broadcast are 5,9,3,1 but the missing numbers I got are 14 blue and 66 red... but there is no city with the numbers 1,4,6,6 or 6,6,1,4
In simple terms you literally just find the red question mark first then the blue question mark and put those numbers together in the red first then blue order which matches up with the city on the audio tape and that same city is the passphrase
I straight up put all the codes and all of them said denied💀. The best part is that I know I did it right the first time. I didn’t even have to look at the video but since it keeps saying denied I’m just here like WTF
@@yazhir I figured it out. The city on the newspaper that has the red letters that’s the code you put into the computer. the corresponding number to the number you get from the sequence is the pass phrase.
@@Flynn_Schultz okay so I will separate this into different sections Newspaper and Sequence (the sequence code is the paper with the question marks). Newspaper- So the newspaper gives you a city mine was Miami. You go to the recorder where it says the codes. The code for your city is going to be the first code you input into the computer. So for hypothetical Miami-1388. 1388 will be the first code you input into the computer. Sequence- So when you do the sequence and you get your number you will go back to the recorder and you will find the city that has the corresponding code. The code you got from the sequence you find the City that has that code and the name of the city will be your passphrase. So hypothetical let’s say your code is 5877 you go to the recorder and you see New York’s code is 5877 you will use that as you passphrase. So when you go to decrypt the disk it should look like this. Code-1388(City code from newspaper) Passphrase- New York(Corresponding City from sequence code)
@@Flynn_Schultz 2396 is the first code you will put in the computer when you get the numbers from the sequence find the city that has those numbers from the sequence and the city name will be your passphrase.
For the code use the city’s code you got from the newspaper and for the phrase use the city that the number match up with that you got from the “a coded message” for example I got Memphis on the newspaper and I went to the number station and my code was 4547 so I use that for my code and the numbers I got from the “the coded message” was 0280 and that matched with boise in my number station so I use that for the phrase

The state is the first number (from the newspaper) then the number from the sheet of paper that you have to find. The numbers from the sheet tell you a state the state is what you put second.
First you have to rearrange the red letter in the newspapers which give you a city then match the city to the audio tape that will be the code you put in, then you when you crack the code in the paper with the red and blue symbols you’ll get the city from the audio tape that becomes the second code you put in (it’ll be the name)
The red letters correspond to a city. You use that city's broadcast number to input the access code. The stupid math puzzle should give you broadcast number of another city. That is passphrase you use. It is stupid but that is the solution. Example: my red letters were for Helena its code was 4296 that is the access code i used. My math puzzle gave me the number 1273 that was the code for Austin. Final answer is 4296 and Austin

1) Read the newspaper to see which place you got. 2) Look at the tape to see which numbers match your place. 3) Enter the numbers that match the place you got. Then enter every location until you’re granted access

I’ve been doing this for almost an hour and still can’t do it Edit: I figured it out, the city on the news paper ,you find on the recording then the numbers next to the city you got, you use as the code, and for the city name just go through the whole list of the city’s and check them all with the code you got from the city in the newspaper
I'm bad at math. What I did, after not finding the video helpful and turning to the comments, was *First. find the city on the newspaper(that's shows you your numeric pass-code) *Second, just brute forced the city, using the list found on the tape. # The second passcode is different than your newspaper code # The newspaper is only for your first passcode. lol I thought I had a bug until that clicked. Anyways.. That way that worked for me, and quicker than figuring out the math. Happy gaming.
So you want to use the NUMBER of the city in the news paper that is listed on the recording. And the you want the CITY that corresponds to the number form the grid puzzle in the recording.

The thing that confused me that these videos seem to not explain is that the "Passphrase" isn't the city you got at the beginning. The two ? numbers you got will be the 4 numbers of whatever city is the passphrase.
Code = The number of the city name you figure out on the newspaper And the paraphrase = the name of the city which the corresponding numbers you figured out on the Coded message

It took me an *embarrassing* amount of time to realize I already solved this, but I had one number wrong for the first code. (I wrote it down and misread the code that was in my handwriting) 💀💀💀💀
Ive figured out my numbers and matched them up with the city, entered it in and it says access denied. Ive checked my work 10 times, same result. Any ideas?
The city on the newspaper use the number that follow with that city. And the numbers you got with your math use the city that matches up with it. Basically it’s backwards. They don’t make it easy at all. Fought this and went thru many RU-vid videos and got pissed and tried my own method. Confusing I know but trust me. So basically my news paper said raleigh and my math came up with 2932. In the password that I typed to get access I used the numbers after Raleigh which was 4590 and my city for the password came to be Chicago which matched with 2932. In your head you’d say okay it’s telling me to put Raleigh bc it’s on the paper then 2932 bc that’s what your math came with. No. Again... completely backwards. But now I have access so no more stress

Once you have found the pattern between the red numbers and the blue numbers you take the first '?' and that is your first 2 numbers you then take the '?' and that completes your 4 digit number, once you have the 4 digit number you then look at the reel with your new number and it gives you the city for the passphrase My red number was 40 and my blue number was 14 Buffalo - 4,0,1,4 was on my reel - Solved it like that The newspaper will give you the city for the code. So mine was entered as: 0555 Buffalo
What I did is to solve only the "Red line" and then to check in the "Station Broadcast" the first two numbers, if you have something similar, just try all of them, till it's going to work, one of them! ( Dont forget the letters also)
If you know by now I’m sorry but to find the place that tells you the city you have to go do the side mission for that German girl you meet up with in brick in the walll. Then you go to a table where a guard is sleeping and there should be a disk

Lmao I rearranged the city from newspaper and got the code first and I just took a picture of the city names and went back n forth and tried all the cities it took me less than 5 minutes
