Cannot stress enough how much this has helped me to improve. I did ‘know’ how to manually defend but I just couldn’t put it into practice a lot of the time. In all honesty I was just panicking too often and panic right stick switching which was disastrous. I’m now doing well with cutting off those passing lanes, especially in the centre of the park (great tip). Jockeying has improved massively and I’m only tackling when I know I’ll win the ball. Unbelievable video, thanks mate!

5:44 that’s what i noticed when first playing this game after coming from fut22 the stand tackle was too costly for me to use so i instead jockey and use (X) to get the ball, allows me to get back on my opponent if i miss the tackle

Good video! You using a deskstand mic? Can hear loads of thumping sounds throughout the entire video. Or you not using a pop filter. Gets a bit annoying listening to that loud sound every 5 second if you use headphones

I am also quite new to FIFA 23, like it a lot, but I think I still have lots to learn. Anyway this video was very helpful, as I usually tried to defend with the circle button a lot, which wasn't working too good. I would have two additional questions: 1. would you say the demonstrated technique of defending applies to online games only or does it serve against the "machine" as well? 2. I still concede a lot of goals after corner kicks (playing against computer opponents on level 'world class'), how can I effectively defend corners? Thx!

hoped this would explain how half of people are just able to sprint/rush into you from every side, without a jockey or tackle, like Legacy defending, while the other half defends exactly like this tutorial, which is a lot harder - been confusing me since fifa 17

Top video mate. Hopefully you can reply. What I'm finding is that the opposition players are always marking my men, about 80% of my passes get intercepted but my guys are never marking. The opposition always tackle me without even putting a foot in, pressing O as well. AND, my players move like they're in quick sand yet they will have a shitty player moving like a prime moments Ronaldo, oh also, if I've got an attacker on a run, how can I shield off his defender, people have said l2 but if I press that, he stops running 🤷‍♂️

Playing on legendary mode or higher you gotta have these down to the tea. Im winning matches by a mile it just pisses me off that I cant slip away without conceding a goal or two lol. I Gotta practice some more and play around with the added features to help you defend.

How would you defend a situation where a really fast player is bombing down the wing and you know he’s gonna beat your full back down the line?

You still need to run with your fullback to try and get their because you never know if he will turn back, if he carries on, then you may need to switch over to your CB if he is turning inside, this will slow him down and allow your fullback to catch-up, then you switch back to your fullback and let your CB get back into shape

Fifa gameplay is all about meta Just switched to fifa from efootball 23 In efootball i was a division 1 player And in fifa i cant even qualify for fut champs It is all about meta meta and meta And the gameplay is so fast that you cant even think of a second 😅💯 And i didnt like the gameplay I just switched to fifa because of graphics But the gameply in efootball is better 💯 thats the fact
