I have a 25-year double-hung vinyl replacement window that leaks into the house during a hard rain. I cleaned out the weep holes and the chamber beneath the pocket sill. That did not stop the leak which by the way leaked over the front corners of the 1-inch front lip of the pocket sill, into the house. . I changed the two bubble seals below the front sash. That did not help. A window repair person thought it may be a leak due to a defective seal between the IGU and the sash. A window repairman recommended placing a bead of brown silicone caulk directly between the exterior of the lower sash and the pane, without the removal of the glazing beads. After watching your video, wouldn't it be a more durable seal to remove the glazing beads and either: use two-sided glazing two-sided tape or silicone to seal the IGU into the sash? Of course, the leak could be someone else but I have no other ideas. What are your recommendations?
Ya know being a 25 yr glass veteran I am always skeptical of any glass videos, the only thing I can point out that is wrong was deglazing the glass without gloves on, maybe in this video the glass was tempered or thick enough it didn't crack but down here in Florida the window manufacturers use the cheapest thin glass that they can, so gloves, wear them!!! Other than that great video!!!
