This actually goes to show you don't need an administrator and user account, your user account can be your administrator account, and with this in mind this video has actually taught people how to remove administrator from windows 10 as well. Cheers from Australia, Nadir
Hey mate, after my laptop failing to reset windows 10 times without specifying why ... I tried this. Worked a treat. Maybe make it clear upfront that all files will be deleted (wasn’t an issue for me but I see it is for others). Other than that, top work!
Thank you!! I got a little nervous at one point because after reboot, the administrator screen was stuck at loading for a long time and then I eventually got a message that the system ran into an issue. It said to give them a moment as they resolved the issue. Eventually they downloaded/fixed whatever it was and the compute restarted again(maybe twice) and then everything was fine.
I don't know if you are still reading the comments for this video but thanks so much I just got my computer maintained and the retail account was still present
Remember if you want to keep the files from the Admin Account you're deleting you need press "keep files" instead of "delete files" at 2:49. If you have a lot of files it may take awhile but just be patient and it will eventually create a new folder with all the files before deleting the account.
@@jeshamariano4725 They should have been grouped together into a new folder in your file explorer. It will most likely be named after the account you were deleting (e.g if you deleted an account named "cindy" the folder name with all these files would be called "cindy").
Weiiiii many thanks! Unable to format so i decided to follow this step.. now i save my money from sending to shop and my laptop clear from all my privacy.. time to trade this laptop.. thanks again 🙆🏻♂️ love from Malaysia
I was struggling over 5 hours trying to figure out how to do it the pc wouldn’t even let me enable the keyboard + no videos I saw were working! Yours did! thanks for sharing!
I know I'm late to the party but if you have two accounts even if they're both administrators just follow these steps to fix it you do *not* need to delete everything off your computer. You might have two accounts a standard and a administrator this is what you do to fix it. If you think you have two administrators accounts still follow the steps to confirm. This is what I did to fix it. Step #1- Go to the magnifying glass left hand bottom of your screen and type in "Control Panel." (Make sure you are on the original administrator the one you did not add.) Step #2- 5 icons will pop up go to the one that says user account and click on "Change account type." (If you are on the original administrator account it will not ask you for a password) Step #3- Click on the one that you want to make the administrator account. Will call this your account. Step #4- click on "Change the account type" Step #5- There will be two options standard and administrator make sure you click on administrator. Step #6- Click on "Change Account Type" (When you do this you will notice that your account is labeled administrator underneath your account name) Step #7- Click on "Manage another account." Step #8- Click on the one you no longer want to be administrator will call this "Owner." Step #9- Click on "Change the account type." Step #10- Click on "Standard" (Since you've created another administrator account it might have already change the other account (owner) into standard) If for some reason this does not work tell me what went wrong or if you get confused.
@@pearl8013 My steps don't remove data and you don't need passwords for this. The only password I can think you would need is the account you're trying to make administrator. You should know that password.
it worked! thx so much for your effort in putting this together - one note, i just got a new pc and needed to reset the administrator role - when i got to the "sysprep" step where you click "reboot" (1:26) i got a weird error message - if u get this msg just let the screen sit there for approx 1 minute and the error goes away and the system will reboot and u can continue ...
i just want to del my acc that became administration for my office pc.. and I don't read comment.. it's too late for that.. and.. yeah..like you guys said..all file have been removed... idk how.. for almost 2 hours i tried my best to find all the doc.. and thanks god.. i got it back.. and i will not use that pc again.. scary af.
Might be good to mention that you lose all of your files and start with a fresh copy of windows... But I might be the only one that finds that annoying.
*you're the man!! Some of the options were not there I mean step by step but wasnt hard to figure out. Im selling my laptop and I dont want my user name to be stuck on it.*

If you want I know how to fix this problem. This is what I did to fix it. I know you might think you have two administrators account but just go ahead and follow all the steps. The music was calming, I got distracted tho. Great video! And I’m sorry I’m not an expert. So I have few questions for clarification. In the 1st part, does is it erase the entire information on the computer/laptop when rebooting? And for the 2nd part, when deleting the account, is it only removing the a account from the computer/laptop? Or is it deleting the information of the account itself? If it’s just removing the account, then that means I can sign in again. Right? (I’m sorry for asking 😅)
backup your data before you do anything. Move it to an external hard drive/USB. The instructions from this video will reset the system - i.e. everything will be permanently deleted.
@@manjushagade2704No, I don't believe so. You're only deleting the admin account and creating a new one. Although, it's always a good idea to backup your windows product key.
this caused my computer to get into a loop and it wont restart. It get stuck when trying to apply settings for Country/region, language, keyboard layout and time zone, after clicking next, it says "Why did my PC restart...there is a problem that's keeping us from getting your PC ready to use, but we think an update will help get things working again... it ways to make sure its plugged in which it is, that if WIFI, to follow instruction to connect to WIFI after clicking next, but it never goes to the wifi set up, it goes back into a long loop back into the same set up screen. how do I get out of this and actually start the PC again, it is unsuable right now
This is the music I hear when they pull my body from some wreckage and successfully perform CPR to tell me, 'damn, we almost lost you, you're one lucky dude'... tranquil as hell.. oh and the video was super helpful too, thx.
wait.. how do I erase like an existing account other than Admin? I accidentally created a new account and now I don't know how to go back to my old one and it doesn't let me delete or download anything because it's not the same account?
its really easy, don’t do what he did, go to command prompt and run it as an administrator, then type: net user administrator delete. After you did that restart and all done
I just did this, and I tried to undo the first bit by doing reboot at the system prep thing, and I think it reset my whole pc, is there a way to get my stuff back!? Even my pictures aren’t there, my games aren’t up to sync either.
