How to Delete the WindowsApps folder on Windows 10/11

This method didn't work for me. I have an external drive that I previously used on another PC and seems nothing would remove the E:\WindowsApps directory or the orphaned junctions that were inside it. But after taking ownership from cmd line with "takeown /f E:\WindowsApps /r /d y" and then "icacls E:\WindowsApps /grant "COMPUTER\uname":F /t /q" (use your own computer or domain name and login of course), then I used Windows Subsystem for Linux (I have Ubuntu) and did "rm -r /mnt/e/WindowsApps" and the directory was finally deleted. I could then change where my content was saved in Settings/System/Storage and it worked.

i was 1 percent away from resetting my pc because a messed up badly then i realised theres youtube and this helped, thanks 👍👍

Yo, when i press change it say's "Cant open access control editor" what do i do?

I think the best way to deal with this is to hide the folder and never think about it again

I formatted the drive to Exfat and then used my phone to format it again to Exfat and then I used my PC to format it to NTFS. If I didn't use my phone for the second format and I just formatted it to NTFS the folders would reappear. Ugh!

hello, i updated my pc recently and my D: drives keeps creating a Program Files folder that I can delete but it keeps returning when I reboot my pc. All of my microsoft store games are on my C: drive is there anyway I can permanently delete the Program Files without it returning?

My Drive is a USB Drive and it does not show anything on apps and features
