I ordered this thing thinking it was gonna be crap. Our school uses a bunch of these and they are very slow. I'm surprised by the speed for an old computer. I think this will be the last actual computer i buy. Over time I will upgrade the stuff in it. Just ordered a new GPU. Good buy!

Actually not always, I'm planning on getting an SSD. then again I have a 6870 so it really isn't an issue.

Max ram is 4x2Gb (could work with 2x4, but I did not verify this) and you also need a 64 bit OS.

Just wondering if you got the final ram added for the total of 8gb? And if you did what mghz is it? Im wanting to top out my 745 mini tower, but i keep reading that I cant upgrade to 8gb at 800mghz. Just wondering if you encountered that problem if your sticks are 800mghz?

I have the same PC. I wanted to know if it is possible to install 16GB of RAM. I've seen people have managed to do it with G-Skill 4X4GB PC2-6400 of RAM. but the manufacturer says that it only supports 8GB maximum. I want to know if anyone has tried to put the 16GB of RAM in this PC and if they have not had any problems.

most schools here are too cheap to get these. we just have shitty windows XP custom builds. decent processors, terrible graphics and ram stats. these computers are freaking cool though.

got a 755 referb wanted to know about the BIOS "performance area" and if I should mess with the hard disk speed/noise settings. mine is running slow, and the factory is "bypass" for "older drives" but how old is old? 2006?

This is mis-information. The limitation is in the hardware. Even winx64 will just see the 3.25 What if somebody takes the time to switch OS (time consuming) to solve problem (based on your info) and finds out the TRUTH which is this is all you are going to see on this system. How is that a limitation in the software? My vostro 220 running same version of windows sees all 4GB? You should be more careful before you post so you don't waste peoples time.
